So what’s the trick installing these bushings? I’ve tried a bearing press and vise. The bushing just mushrooms out and don’t go in. I have almost destroyed the bushing trying

Destroying them might be a good thing. Who makes those? I spray mine with Armor All. Slippery when wet. 🤫 I've never seen any that shape.

JKS knockoffs I got for 8$ at an Amazon return store. I took the bushings out cause someone filled with white lithium grease and I flushed and regreased and cannot get them back in. I've greased them and sprayed wd-40 on them with no luck,

You might try freezing them overnight , that would make them stiffer and slightly shrink them.
I haven't done this , but it doesn't cost anything to give it a try. Good Luck I hope you find a solution !

Yeah I thought about that but when I looked up freezing rubber it said that rubber expands when frozen. Although I have froze metal sleeved bushings and they shrink.

Blow torch to the housing to expand it, too. There isn't anything left to lose!

You may want to try using a nut and bolt, through the bushing and arm, with a washer/collar placed on the arm and bushing end and pull bushing through. Hold arm in a vise while compressing, keeping bushing straight and go slowly.
I use hand or dish soap for the lube.

I Love Fred!! This bushing is not cased in metal.

But it can be - think a sec- take a worm drive hose clamp and put it on it and see if that helps then drive it down in with a wooden dowel- wrap it in a feeler gauge shim first to protect it if needed-

You have a spherical bushing slightly bigger than the outer flange to work as a heim joint sort of-

Might do a test with your old ones- put them in hot water and see if that does anything -

If you have one still assembled just wash it in simple green, like soak in a pan, and rinse it - the new grease will flush any residual out.

I tried something similar to the hose clamp idea. I looked for a hose clamp but I didn’t have one. I found basically some washers that the bushing slid into to try to stop the mushrooming of the bushing. Multiple washers stacked that equaled to about 5/16 thick and tried a vise slowly well lubed and the barrel of the arm shaved the bushing and destroyed it. I ordered the Jks kit.
Thanks Andy.
