Arizona Rock Crawling Daily Driver

This is what happens if you get too driver on the notch. Some LJs did a run in AZ last week and my buddy sent me this. Apparently brand new half doors 😬

You would like it but I don't know that it makes enough difference to hunt one down and go through the pain of installing it.
I am glad to hear that I’m not missing out too much. Always thought of it as a nice to have but not a big priority

Awesome photos and great work! You've come a long ways in just a short amount of time.

Dang must have hit a big shopping cart at the mall

A little too late for this year, but for next year's Halloween, you can make your jeep look like it survived one of those Michael Bay action movies with all the scars it will accumulate by that time (thanks to the steady rock diet you are going to be putting it on) 😂

Did you just put some weld on there or actual piece of metal? I should do similar, it’s dragging a lot

Cut notches in the bottom about 1/8” deep. Dovetail them if you can. Weld a bunch of beads on there and grind smooth when done. The best way to do this is to use a new diff cover so you can stack the layer up to be flush with the new cover. I clamped a piece of 1/4” aluminum flat bar to the edge of the diff so I could weld all the way up to the edge. I’ll find pics later.

The Dana 44 I put in had an axle seal leak start a few days after putting it in. Not bad, just a slow weep, so I took my time getting to it. Finally got to it today. Fairly straightforward project. I used @hosejockey61 video as a guide

The parts I used were Timken SET10 bearings and Timken 9912S seal. Obviously this is my first time changing a 44 seal, but apparently this seal does a much better job than others.

It was very nice to do a quick and easy project on the Jeep for once 😅
