I just thought you guys would get a kick out of this-

Looking close at the weld it seems the passenger side weld penetrated poorly, broke, and it put stress on the side you see broken- Really old fracture- new mount coming

Meanwhile, back at the control arm bracket, isn't it a fair guess to say that the break wasn't necessarily due to poor weld penetration, but more likely due to years of increased lateral leverage on the mount from the track bar via the aftermarket raised track bar bracket? 🤷‍♂️

Caught my attention because I run a similar or identical raised bracket, as do many others I'm sure.

Depends where in Va you go! ;)

Back in the early 2000’s I was sent to Quantico VA. for a month of training and we were put up in a hotel in Stafford VA… Flying into Regan International was a sight, the monument, the capital all the asphalt and concrete, all the people… On the first morning after arrival they put us on a bus and we headed toward Quantico and not far from the hotel I started noticing things like tires on mobile home roofs, an old man in overalls on a tractor in the road, and a sign that said “Pigs for sale”… felt like I was back in Arkansas..

You can get pockets of that anywhere in VA. However, N.Va has taken over much of Stafford and is pushing west to Warrenton. Va is like many other places, where once you get out of the big cities, country gets real fast. I prefer that, because at least people are who they say they are in the country!

That is for sure part of the equation- weak weld, higher mount and hard wheeling took its toll likely. Completely broke the steel.

Those mounts are also bad for getting into the fuel lines -

A lot of people run them with no mount failures- the sad part is my track bar is adjustable and there was zero benefit to it being there any way-and one will never be back on one of mine.

My welder noticed the weld issue, seems to think it had been going a long time.
