OME 2 inch lift

My biggest problem with the OME 2" suspension lift kit is the shock absorbers it comes with now, the Nitrocharger Sport. They are MUCH stiffer riding than the older and now discontinued Nitrocharger which I used to run and loved on my TJ. I only stopped running it because they finally wore out.

The common thought on why they made the Nitrocharger ride more stiffly and calling it a Nitrocharger Sport was they are made stiffer for the heavier newer Wrangler models like the Wrangler JK and Wrangler JL. Whatever the reason is the current Nitrocharger Sport rides too stiffly when mounted onto a Wrangler TJ.

If the older better riding OME Nitrocharger was still available I'd be running that shock today.

There are both Nitrocharger and nitrocharger sport variants in Romania. I understood that if I had to prefer them, the nitrogharger ones would be preferable to the nitrocharger sport ones. The idea is that both shock absorbers are yellow and I don't know how to tell them apart. They probably have different codes

Bilstein maybe a good option for you. If you dig deep into the Bilstein website custom application charts you can find dozens of options with detailed stock dyno numbers. Bilstein is the only shock company I know of that give out their dyno numbers so you can actually compare shocks and make an informed choice.

Thanks, yes Bilstein would have been a second option. I don't know, however, with which springs it can be paired to work ok. And as an interlocutor said above, I'm afraid that they are too rigid

My LJ may be similar, I do not have a winch but I do run a hardtop and softtop and I have no complaints, and I would voice my opinion if I thought there was an issue. What are the options that you are looking at, as I assume certain brands (pricing) are tough to locate where you live?

I would have Ironman for 700 euros, rough country for 1200 euros, BDS 1000 euro, or combinations of springs and shock absorbers that I could try but without knowing what results to expect-

Of course, I want to limit myself to a 2-inch lift so I don't have to make other changes

What is the cost of the OME to you? I would lean towards the OME or BDS/Fox combo before the Rough Country or Ironman. Did you look at the Rancho shocks? They are well liked on this forum and you will only need to prep and paint them before installing as they are not built well for the colder climates. Many reports of them rusting. My OMEs live in the snow and are all good with regards to rust.

864 euro the nonsport version. https://shop.gtcauto.ro/produse/sus...t-suspensie-ome-nitrocharger-jeep-wrangler-tj
918 euro sport version https://shop.gtcauto.ro/produse/sus...ensie-ome-nitrocharger-sport-jeep-wrangler-tj
1000 euro BDS https://www.jeepmania.ro/kit-uri-de...-25-cm-BDS-pt97-06-JEEP-WRANGLER-TJ-3449.html

If those are your options. BDS.

Those are solid

Those are three solid choices, better than the other options you mentioned, and to me you are at what's your favorite color, red, blue or purple. Go with one of those and you will be in good shape.

Since I already have an OME lift, I would go BDS next time around so I could compare the two...but like I said, my OME lift is perfect, not stiff like others describe, and I have not a single complaint.

Hello everyone
I have a question for you
Is the 2-inch lift kit from OME really as weak as they say here in Romania? The price difference between this and one more dedicated for jeeps is big and I don't know how to proceed
Does Romania have any camels?

They have Red Bull Romaniacs in Romania. Looks like a paradise for off road.

Romania is far from any area where you could see camels... what about offroad paradise, yes you can still go on the forest roads without too many limitations with protecting the environment and of course avoiding protected areas

I just did a 2” ome lift- I’d say the shocks have very firm action- If they actually moved. I’m kind of being funny but what I’m saying is they are really stiff but at this stage I don’t have the vehicle completely set up either.

is it the sports version of the shock absorbers or the classic one? What springs are they? So these are three versions... I wouldn't want very high hardness Otherwise it looks very good
Mine looks like this without the lift

I would have to check my invoice but I think he went to the firm side on everything and they are nitro charger-gets a winch and roof rack so that is supposed to help.

If you see any camels at all over there let me know. Try to make a note of how many humps.

Worldwide camel distribution is another hobby of mine.

The right shock for the lift you get and correct tire pressure is what will make it ride to your liking. The springs don’t matter. Just get some that give you ~ 2” of lift. Most around here like Rancho 5000X shocks (0-2”) for a softer ride. I don’t know if you can get them in Romania, but worth a shot.
