I love Truckhaven. A lot. We went wheeling last weekend, and I got a couple pics. It was very quiet for a Veteran's Day Weekend, but we weren't complaining.

Camping. The Suburban has a Vortec 8.1 Swap. I built it to be my tow rig.

I used to ride dirt bikes and wheel down at the Salton Sea and Ocotillo Wells all the time, best time to be down there
temperature wise, IMO

At the top of one of the big hills in the offroad area, somebody placed an actual payphone (non-functional) at the very top. It's been there a long, long time. 20+ years. It's hard to get up there, and I haven't been able to make it for a long time. The "easy" path is terrifying, and I usually avoid it.
