Aggressive drivers toward Jeeps?

Very nice. I have a '12 S197 GT manual I ordered new 10 years ago. I did some chassis mods to make it more track capable (like the Boss already is). The car is so nice to drive. The Coyote is loves to rev and is under rated by Ford. This one dyno'ed 400 RWHP, stock. I'll prob keep it for a long time.

Mine dyno’d on a Mustang dyno at 446whp and 501hp at the crank. I’ve had a lot of dyno tuning done to it and done several mods. The rev limiter was bumped up to 8200rpm from 7500rpm stock.

These late model S197s are an absolute blast. Of all the cars I’ve owned I’m kicking myself for not owning one of these until recently. I’ve owned a lot of LS cars but I have to say that this Coyote is such a treat to drive.

I would keep that thing too! The 13-14 S197 is perfect. It’s got the retro look with the modern chassis.

I’ve got a Watts link on mine and I have to say that everyone who has ridden with me during spirited driving is always shocked to learn it has a solid rear axle.

Check out the brakes:

I’ve asked a handful of TJ owners about this. Most of them agreed with me. When you are driving your TJ, do you experience an absurd amount of aggressiveness toward you from other drivers in their cars? I have two vehicles, my TJ and a normal 4 door sedan. I can genuinely say that I experience being cut off way more, other drivers ride my ass way more, and just ultimately more aggressive toward me. Don’t know if it’s become I’m a younger woman or if it’s my Jeep, I don’t know! Anyone else experience this?

I haven't seen any aggressive behavior when driving our Jeeps. Please don't take this wrong but how is your driving in the Jeep ?
I hope you find the answer.

I don't really get that attitude here in Colorado, but Jeeps are very popular where I live, so maybe people are just very used to driving in the presence of them, or maybe they also own one or have owned one.

What I do experience though, is when my family and I are road tripping (Usually from Colorado to California where we have family) in our Chrysler minivan and I have the cruise set at 5mph over the speed limit and pass some big SUV, or some status sedan, many will speed up and re-overtake me, because, I assume, they won't be passed by a minivan. Then, a couple miles up the road, the same song and dance happens with the same vehicle all over again. Not a big deal if we are the only vehicles on that stretch of the road, but when there are other cars or truckers going much slower and I have to either brake or speed up and then reset the cruise to navigate around the douchebag, it really gets annoying. Either drive your speed, or drive my speed. I don't care which, but keep it consistent.

I guess that's what I get for driving a minivan though. 😁

Up here in Broomfield, cars are consistently on my ass, and it gets worse the closer to Denver I get. Typically, I'm 5 over the limit so it's not like I'm driving too slow. At first I thought they were trying to read my tire cover, but it happens so often I ruled that out.

I don't think it's because of the TJ though. My compassionate, non-judgmental, caring, and loving heart believes that they are just plain Stupid-ass Dicks......😇

Apparently, the Stupid-asses down south here aren't quite as dickish.

I wouldn’t say I think I get any more aggression towards me when driving vs what other people get. However, the tj is my first and only car. Only other cars I’ve driven is my parents when I was learning, and one is a JLU. And that’s when I was learning, so obviously people are gonna be unhappy with me.

Though, I will say when I’m at a stoplight, I’ve had quite a few situations where people want to race me? Why??? Maybe because they know they’ll win and need an ego boost??

Kinda off topic, but somewhat related… I have to say that when a random guy (or girl) in a tj waves at me, it always makes me so happy

I sort of see several scenarios-

If people are all over your bumper you might really consider that Regear you’ve been putting off...

The biggest consistent problem I see in traffic is people just literally veering over into my lane- This is nothing more than distracted drivers

If you really want to see some ridiculous behavior get a Corvette. Everyone wants to race even if they don’t have close to the horsepower to be in the game.

Probably the worst thing I’ve seen is when I just barely tapped into the rear end of someone and they completely overreacted. Went right over the handlebars.

How would someone cutting you off or tailgating you know you are a young woman? If you repeatedly find your self being cut off or tailgated while others aren’t, maybe you are being an impediment to traffic?

my gf and i were discussing this on a drive when she was complaining that i never use my turn signal when changing lanes. i explained to her that 99% of drivers in LA are cunts and that they'll close the gap if they see my signal so fuck em, i go where i fit.
In every turn signal discussion I've seen on various forums I try to explain that little quirk of CA freeway driving and for the most part they simply refuse to believe how terrible it is. If you want to pop into a gap in the next lane, do it. Put your signal on to be nice about it and that gap will disappear in a heartbeat. Can't be having no one get there one car length ahead of us, now can we?

I despise it with a passion when I've got the camper on and towing the Jeep on the trailer. I spend most of my time in the furthest right lane because of how difficult it is to move over to the right with that much length and finding a gap big enough. I've put the signal on and watched car after car move up beside the trailer so I can't get over. In some circumstances where I had few options and needed to be over, I just started moving over with them beside the trailer after I signaled well in advance. So far, they have all taken the shoulder or slowed down and let me in but it really shouldn't have to be that way.

Sorta like they speed up when a passing lane coming up.

Someone needs to explain that one to me. Every single time we went up to Big Bear, always the same. Some moron doing under the speed limit in all the no passing zones, get up to a passing zone and they flip on the Formula 1 switch and race everyone to the end so they don't get passed so then you and the 20 cars behind you get to follow them to the next one. All the way up the mountain.
