My son has a ‘97 sport. The blend door actuator (at passengers feet) broke. It controls the temperature. The part shown in all the parts lists is not the same as what broke. The one that broke had the larger interface that the cable sort of wrapped around and the part listed is similar but just a hook. Is there another possible part number for older models with the slide control for the temp?

This is not the right one. It fits into the door slot but the hook for the cable is the wrong design.

download the parts manual for a 1997-1998 from the resources thread and look at page 453 for a diagram and part numbers !

I have the same problem with my 98. Have not been able to figure it out yet. See pic is this what yours looks like?

I believe when I looked for mine it wasn't available. All I could find was the one you posted. Where did it break that it needs replaced?

Basically the head where the cable connects broke off. My son drive a screw up into the shaft to pull the rest out

I've got a 97 too and if I find a deal on a complete 97 air box and controls as a hot spare I'm jumping on it.

Interested to see if you can find parts.

Maybe you can take apart the actuator and replace some o rings or seals?

Worst case I'd get a universal choke kit and rig the cable and knob to move the door.

I’ve thought about this. Isn’t replacing the whole box a huge pain in the ass
