Here goes, 2006 2.4L 6 speed, bought jeep 2 years ago and the radiator looked fairly new. About 8 months in the top passenger side seam started spewing. Install new and again about 8 months the passenger side started spewing again. Now almost 5 months this radiator top plastic cap just split! Is there something wrong I’m ignorant of or am I just that unlucky?
Also if there is a all aluminum replacement I’m all ears.
Thanks people.

If you're buying cheap parts store brand radiators, stop. Mopars are pricier but they generally last.

Stop using store brand or cheap aftermarket radiators which are well known to not hold up long. And typical all-aluminum radiators are probably the worst at staying together and leak free. Most are so shoddily constructed they require an epoxy lining to stop the leaks, not to mention epoxy is not a good conductor of heat.

Though they're getting hard to find you'd be a lot better off with a Mopar radiator. They also out cool and have a bigger cooling reserve than most radiators. Not to mention they usually outlast typical aftermarket radiators many times over.

We're still looking for a good aftermarket alternative to the Mopar but nothing yet is looking promising.

Are you sure you dont have a leaking head gasket over pressuring the coolant system? I've personally never had issues with Murray radiators or a few others but, you bet OEM is the best if you can find one.

Yes the two I’ve put in were Murray’s. Won’t go there again. As far as the all aluminum, been reading reviews since posting and haven’t seen a positive one yet. 😳 Will look for mopar. Thanks for advice.

I have had this mentioned to me. Will definitely check into it. Thanks
