Anybody try one of these? They are cheap and have mixed reviews but I can’t find any Jeep-specific reviews. So, wazzup??? Any suggestion?

Thanks…

Welcome ! You will likely find the Forum enjoyable and full of good Jeep advice.
Can't help with the power windows , I like the hard to turn hand crank type. That said I've found cleaning out the window tracks and spraying silicone spray
in the regulators really helps with the hand cranking . ( for cheap too ) !

I’ve had “Electric Life” window winders and locks for about 6 years now. Everything works well enough. The locks have to be adjusted every couple of years.

I agree having the manual windows is a PIA after many years of power windows. But...where we take these jeeps is hard on the equipment and if those after market power windows are not made of all steel parts then you would likely have trouble with them. I've seen what the car companies put in our modern cars and they are strips of plastic with gear holes in them for lack of technical words. Those fail even on blacktop roads.

I don’t have any experience with TJ specific power window kits. I have worked on several classic cars that have had power window conversions of various brands and types. Most seem to be unreliable at best. I have seen a few work well but the restoration shop that installed them said that they had to do some custom fab work to make that happen.

When I had my restoration shop, I hated those power window kits and did everything I could to discourage their use. Worst ones I ever did were the kits to convert to one piece door windows on the '47-'55 Chevy pickups.

I installed an almost identical kit in a car years ago. They were absolutely worthless. They were loud, bound up frequently and eventually just broke. I ripped them out after just a few months. I would advise steering clear of them.

Ha me too. Everyone else has a speech impediment! 😝
I escaped 25 years ago.

We moved to Arkansas in the mid-'90's, but now that my kids are on their own and my wife has passed, I spend the summers working in Cali and then escape in the winters. I'll admit, I'd never go back to where we used to live but living and working in the eastern Sierra's for 6 months out of the year ain't bad.
