Hey all, I’m at a loss. I have a 97 w/ a warn hub 5x5.5 conversion up front and a 8.8 in the back? I’m trying to eliminate running wheel spacers all together. Is there a way around this? Can a steel 5x5.5 wheel me drilled to 5x4.5? Any ideas thanks ?

Best way would be to run the Yukon 8.8 C-clip eliminator and drill a set of rear 8.8 rotors to 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern to match the front. The eliminator adds about .900 per side so not as much as the average wheel adapter but enough if you pick the right backspacing on your rims.

No, you can not redrill the average Jeep fitment steel rim because the holes are not actually flat. The hole is dimpled outward with a 60 degree seat cut for the lug nut taper to engage.

I think it is this way for safety reason, with 5x4.5 there is less material around center bore of the rim

The only solution I have found is the cclip eliminator and use the 5x5.5 pattern. That brings me to lockers. Can I re use the lock rite locker I currently use? I was thinking about going with a limited slip to improve handling.

The Yukon kit doesn't change the spline count but it does eliminate the c-clips so if some part of the locker uses the c-clips to function, that will be a problem.

IDK about 8.8 but I put Alloy shafts in my Dana 44. THey are kinky and go both ways, Doesnt help you directly but maybe you can have machine shop drill in a similar fashion.

I got those for my girl jeep. She has a jk with a 44.

If I could just find those for a 8.8. Idk if there is room in the hub flange to do this. I totally would!!
