.Trying to get my 4WD light to work with no success. I jumped the wires at the switch and it works. Bought a replacement Crown Automotive switch and still doesn’t work. APDTY and Dorman are the only two other options. Any thoughts before I buy another brand?

That's what I mostly gathered from all my searches. I'm only finding the oem ones on eBay for about $100, not sure I need the light working that bad lol

If i remember right it works sort of like a potentiometer and is depressed (spring in) in 2wd , but correct me if wrong.

I think it took me two -3 tries to get one that worked via parts store-

I had similar luck with a reverse light switch also-

Good luck - mopar is typically the best route if possible.

The rubicons report a range of data, the NP231 models just pass through the ground for the bulb when in either 4wd range. I don’t know if the button is held in when on or off though, Aka not sure if it’s NC or NO but either way, it is a simple on/off function on his 05 X.
