Anybody have a Smittybilt black diamond bowless soft top? Getting the top on was fairly easy, but getting the windows on is an absolute bear. I finally got the rear window to zip in but there's a 1" gap where to top of the rear window velcros to the very back of the top section. The zippers & lips on the window edges seem to located everything, so I'm not sure how the anything can be out of place.

Anybody else run this top? Any tips on installation?

Follow the instructions and the multiple videos out there. The new top pieces definitely need time in the sun to warm up so they can be stretched. This isn't something that is unique to Smittybilt, it's holds true to any new Jeep tops.

I have that top. It's been a few years since I put it on for the first time, but I remember that I just followed the instructions and it wasn't very hard.

I'm sure if it were warmer it would help, but honestly who is buttoning up their jeep while it is warm out? It is what it is at this point, I can't control the temperature (yet). I've had the upper piece on for a couple of months, this is the first time I've even looked at the window pieces.

As far as the instructions go, English must not be your first language either because whoever wrote those directions is ESL at best. More likely failed Google Translate. Or at least nobody in the QC department attempted to follow them before shipping. Kudos to you for being able to understand them, I can't. I have yet to find a good video. The printed instructions that came with it reminds me of the Simpsons doing a rubick's cube.

Leave one of the sides loose from the tubrail. That will allow you to zip the back up. After that, place the back corner of the rail locking piece into the rail, and force it down and into the rail. Follow it around until it's all the way in.

You have to have the door surrounds in first though, right? You'll never get those in last...

Correct. The door surrounds are one of the first things you do.

Leave the front unlatched until you put the windows in. I installed mine when it was 50 and windy outside. No need to warm it up.

When you say "leave the front unlatched" do you mean leave the front lip out, or do you mean leave the lip in the windshield channel but don't have the channel installed? There are no latches on this top.

I think that he's referring to a factory type top, not a frameless.

My frameless top flipped back, so it latched to the windshield header. I also bought a Rampage frameless sailcloth top and had zero issues with installation.
p.s. I never read instructions for anything. I like to figure things out on my own. 🤫

Since it never gets warm enough here to stretch on its own I start everything on and put a Buddy heater inside to loosen everything up.
