So how do you paint the tub and windshield with the hinge assemblies is there a preferred order of painting and assembly.

It’s personal preference.

If it was a long term keeper or color change , I would remove the windshield frame and paint it completely seperate from the tub or fold it down enough to paint between the two.

How I would approach it would really depend on the condition of the vehicle and if I was changing color and also if it is in a salty area. I would probably be a lot more thorough in the rust belt.

Like @AndyG said, at minimum, you really need to fold the windshield. Cut-in all of your jams, then paint the panels.

I have my windshield glass out and removing the entire frame and hinges. I will paint everything where it gets hidden in some way. Then reattach and paint everything again as it sits all together.

Hooking up with my painter next week and my brain needs a method.

We're down to just a stripped tub with everything windshield removed and it looks like a 2 stage process no matter how I figure, so we'll probably paint the tub and mounted hinges separate from the windshield frame then remount and reshoot upper hinges.

You’re best to paint under the hinges first, then install the hinges and get everything lined up how you want it. After it’s all lined up, paint everything at once. That way, you’re not trying to adjust the windshield and doors over fresh paint and scratching it all up.
