Nice, nice, nice, NICE! Just what I need as well. What's your opinion of doing this without removing the carrier?
That's what I needed to know - there's a pile of generic instructions floating around that don't apply to the Dana 30.Impossible since you have to remove the ring gear in order to remove the pinion shaft.
I had to remove my carrier when I installed my Torq Locker. Like mentioned earlier, the ring gear prevented the cross pin from being removed.
I think it has to do which gears you have, but not positive on that. I have 3.73 gears.

It’s been such a long time since install, but you definitely needed to remove the carrier so you can remove the pin which interferes with the ring gear. This is no big deal. Just keep everything in its original orientation so the bearing caps and shims go back in exactly as they were.
Got mine in today, will probably install next week. For some reason my instructions are for c clip axles. Anyways are new ring gear bolts needed?

I put new ones in, with red loctite, when I put my Dana 30 Torq Locker in. I got them from Denny's Driveshafts.
