Lockers 4.56 gears Extras: genright fuel tank long arm kit(Score:ROFLMAO:)
Don’t know what going on with the paint. Looks ugly that’s forsure but that can always be fixed. Pros it’s a 4.0,clean title, 134xxx Miles, and already has gears&lockers.
How much will you pay for this TJ?

I'd show up with 10k in cash, in stacks of 1k distributed in different pockets.

Open with $3k. Wave cash in their face... really motivates folks.

Oh and a couple pistols and knives...but you're in California so good luck.

Betcha you can get it for less than 5.

4.56...so an auto?

That’s the best part it’s listed for under 5k.

If nothing else it's a lot of useable parts.

I see a Jeep set up as a desert racer.

I see oem clamps on the radiator. Might be a Mopar radiator and that's huge.

AC jeep so it probably has the bigger alternator.

Wiring harness looks fairly unmolested...but the number painted on the ECU is concerning.

Bumper, fuel tank all useable.

Tub and frame are probably solid.

Concerned with the open diff cover.

I seen the numbers painted on the ECU. The jeep starts and runs.
I’m thinking he pulled the diff cover to show the inside? Not sure I will have to ask him questions.

Paint, new suspension, tires, tune up, replace all fluids. 5-6k?
List price is 3500
Does it run and drive- its the transmission ok, how long has it been sitting, why is the diff cover off? Why is is parked? How long has it been parked?

May work out awesome. I usually get in the game and get 100 dollared to death.

It runs and drives. It’s been parked because he has another TJ that is freshly painted. for how long it’s been sitting? I would have to ask him. I have a lot of questions for him. Looks like he decided to put his money in the second jeep below.
My main concern is that it runs and drives.
Going to offer him less than $3,500. Hoping to be around if not less than $10k total.

The modifications that come with the Jeep do not add a dramatic value to what you see.
The value of added parts are not a 1 to 1 value...; generally the value you get is about 30 cents to the dollar.
The rear diff cover appears to have been off for a while by the looks of the carrier.
As others have stated above; how much would you need to spend to make the Jeep a dependable vehicle.
For me... the overall condition equals a PASS on its purchase even if you can get it for $3000.

Diff cover off it my biggest concern (looks like it's been off for a while, why?), 2nd is rust. 3rd biggest concern does it run. Not that we all can't get one running, but sometimes it's a wire and sometimes it's a cracked head. Listed at 35, if I had the space & budget for a project, I would probably do it....obviously going in low at like 2200 or something but likely ready to move up to his number. He's not going to get a ton of interest in that condition, use that to your advantage. And yes, you will get 100 dollared to death. That's half the fun sometimes.

I always wonder on something like this, how much better could he make it look with one hour of effort? It obviously looks like crap & poorly maintained, but how bad is it REALLY? I sold my horrible CJ project this summer...I was beyond done with it. I always said I was going to do my best to make it look great when the time came to sell it, but when the time came to sell it all I cared about was clearing the space in my garage. I took 3 lousy pictures and called it a day.

The name of the game is what are ya up for-

I got a Rubi with 69,000 miles for $9600.00 that only needed a new locker line in the rear diff-

I also paid 21,000.00 for one that took $6000.00 to f
make it drivable - my inexperience got me there.

Evaluation is the key, evaluation, end goal, time and ability to deal with all of it should help drive the decision-

My gut is things are most always more involved than we expect-

And like you said, it IS fun- and a lot of my whole jeep hobby is about that now.

We are talking through offer up and the guy takes forever to reply. All I asked him was does it run and drive because it seems like he will take forever to answer all my questions. He says it runs and drives. I wouldn’t even go look at it if it didn’t start.
I have the space for it and will do most of the work. I was going to start lower than 2200 lol. Rust shouldn’t be an issue if this jeep has been in California all it’s life but i do see a bit of rust on the front conrol arm bracket.
This jeep will actually be for my dad. He’s been looking at YJ’s and TJ’s. The tjs I’ve seen around my area are around 10K stock and that’s for early TJs most with a Dana 35. I know my dad wants a lift and bigger tires. That means regear, suspension, tires. Another 6k?
I bet if this TJ had good paint more people will be interested. It just looks ugly.
If it runs and drives I think I can get it to look decent for around 10k.
If it runs and drives I think all it will need is suspension, paint, tires tune up and other miscellaneous parts might need the front gears done?
