Jack stands

Oh I want a lift, I will eventually have a lift.

More stuff yes, but stuff has to go first!!!!

You should have seen how much scrap I have hauled to the recycling place :eek:tractor bumper weights, wheel weights. Pounds and pounds of ultra cheap grade Chinese bolts.

Mom alzhimers has kind of got everything on hold for now. We are just trying to help Dad as best we can.

Alzheimer’s and dementia have got to be some of the toughest things to watch loved ones go through. My thoughts are with you, friend.

I buy lots of hand tools from HF but no experience with their jack stands.

Recently picked up these and they seem solid. Used them on the Tundra which is much heavier than the LJ. They have the lock pin which I'm a big fan of.

I’ve got the same ones, someone else had posted them last year.

Has anyone tried the HF 12 ton Jack Stands?

I don’t know if it was this set but HarborFreight has had a few recalls of their jack stands the last couple years for safety reasons. I can’t say I remember 100% but I believe it was for faulty welds. Just consider that you are trusting your life with whatever stands you buy. This is not an area you want to shop strictly on price.

It was the 6 ton stands, trust me, all the stands 3 ton and up that look alike all come from China.

I can almost guarantee if you found an all makes in USA jack stand it would be triple the price of anything listed in this thread.

I always check my jack stands before use. If the legs seem to be separated at the seams, in the scrap pile they go. The only thing I do replace are the cold roll pins if I happen to break one.

You are right, 3-4 times depending on what height and weight ratings you need. Here is a high quality 100% American made example https://usjack-com.3dcartstores.com/Garage-Jack-Stands-PAIRS_c_12.html

I have been tempted to buy a set but find it hard to pull the trigger when sitting on the couch but later when I need them wish I did. Now that my kid does some wrenching, I think I will.

I remember that. Made for great meme material. The ones I bought back in the early 2010s are still going strong.

Those are the ones I went with as well.

I guess I'm the fifth one who'll admit they went with Pro-Lift 6-ton Stands. They've been really good for me.

'Bout the only thing I'll kvetch about is the pins. They're ALWAYS on the "other side", it doesn't matter what the circumstance is, or how I have the stands turned, the pins are always on the "wrong" side! :ROFLMAO:

I need larger stands in my garage like these ones.
