What brand of tires should I go with?

More tires questions...
I have a 2002 with the factory wheels and tires. I want to go a little bigger, up to 31s. But mount them on 15 or 17" rims? I want to keep the tires under the stock fenders. What offset gets me closest? I assume the BFGs would be the best choice for tires for my driving. Light off roading, and about 3 months of snow.

Hi, here is a great site to see what offset/backspacing will keep your tires under the fenders.
Offset Calculator
I like mine tucked in the stock position as well. It had 32" tires that stuck out about 2 inches when I bought it. I went to a 31" tire with American Racing Baja 172 rims in 15x8 with 20mm of offset. That put them back under the fenders mostly. The stock offset for my 99 is 25.4mm on a 7x15 rim. You can plug that into the calculator and compare it to the rim you want to get. You can also just mount 31x10.5 R15 tires on your factory wheels and there should be no issues. The BFGs are very popular, but I hear they can be pretty heavy and hard (in load range E) for a daily driver. But, tires are a personal choice. I went with the Milestar Patagonia M/T and they were good for a bit, especially off road, but they are loud as heck now! I'm looking at some A/T tires like the Kumho AT51 or AT52. The Geolander AT G015 is loved by many if you are only doing light off roading.
Good luck!
