Opened up one of my Christmas presents. At 14W x 15D x 2H, this is without a doubt the best compact tool set if ever had.

I need to stay out of tool stores. I've been wanting this one for a while now and at $179, with Military discount, I gave in.

I bought a Rubicon 44 a while ago at a yard sale. It was a gamble, because it had a truss and I noticed two of the ball joints were tack welded. However, the price was right, at $300, so it came home with me. It sat in the garage for a while and today I finally dug into. While there is bad news, the ball joints had been replaced with splinned versions, the locker works great and it, surprisingly, had a pair of Revolution Gear US made 1350 axles in it.

I'd call that a MAJOR WIN even if the housing is trash you got some great parts for $300. Wish I could find stuff like that out here for those kinds of prices.
Yes. The owner recently moved here from California.
Someone has definitely had the carrier out on the 44 front. The backlash felt excessive, so I checked it. This is not good!
I'll put the cover back on and start playing with the shims to move things back in place, best I can.
