Rather than scouring the internet, wanted to start with you guys, because I value your feed back.

I wanted to recess lights into the bumper but that seems to be fizzling out based on extent of fab work to clear the cross tube.

My ‘04 has the rack, thinking of leds between the 2 perimeter frame pieces-

Not a light bar fan on TJs at all- but love some ideas- may even install plates to use flush mount lights.

As always,
Your Pal,
Andy G

Never done it to my TJ. Mine's already a noisy beast.

I think I would mock up a light bar with a 2x2 or something dimensionally similar and see what it sounds like.

You thinking of something like a 52 inch light bar under or in front of the rack?

Not really a bar- I’m just not sure what is the right look for up there

If you mount a light bar there , get ready to build a shield to reduce the light glare off your windshield and hood.

Really depends on what you are using the lights for...

I was really thinking about using them to illuminate the darkness. I’ve had pretty good luck with that 🤣

About what really ends up happening with Offroad lights is you end up pulling over and shining the lights for your buddy who’s jeep broke.

No reason not to attach them TO the bumper.

Oh I know- my 03 -

I’m just going for a different look - and the winch dominates my stubby and its too much fab work to make it deeper -

It really doesn’t take much with todays lights- the vision x my ‘03 has now are more than enough.

Not a big light bar guy myself, but given the rack is already there, a couple of square lights mounted between the rack structure with the lenses flush to the front of the rack would be pretty a pretty slick custom look (like they're incorporated into the rack - similar to your concept of recessedin the bumper). Plenty of room to experiment with both number and placement.

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking and just kind of looking for the right light-

I’ve been working on it all evening-

Ucf rear aluminum bumper-

Genrights finally back from the paint shop

That's a mighty fine looking bumper; you've got excellent taste!

Can't wait to see how the Genrights turn out 😍

Check out Rigid Industries for the lights. Spendy, but high quality from all I've read and look to have some that could fit the bill.

Hey I knew we both had class😂😂

How many bolts did you use to mount the sub bumper- I’m debating how hard I want to work.

4 on each side. Two in the outer section on each side, then drilled into the sub bumper on the upper left and lower right on both sides through the inner set of holes in the UCF.

I called UCF to get their input and using the additional bolts was their recommendation if towing or using the bumper for recovery.

I chose the hole location based on where I could get access to the back side to tighten the bolts.
