What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally installed the UCF engine skid.

I bought the UCF skid in the "for sale" forums. (Can't wait till it gets here :) In the meantime I finished cleaning up and greasing my new-to-me control arms and cleaned up and replaced missing bolts in my new-to-me GTS. Hoping to get the GTS and at least rear control arms in next weekend. Shout out to @voodooridr for loaning me the JonnyJoint tools to get it done. Thanks man.

Drove my 97 TJ all over the forest volunteering... maintaining trails. CascadeVols.org sent me a little reward! Glad they didn't get too pissed off with me making YouTube videos!

Was the reward a back country pass that only pass holders can go on ?

Rewards include spending long days in the middle of the wilderness bucking logs, benching trails, brushing and soaking up the magnificence of being in the middle of nowhere.

Oh and the Jeep ride to the trailhead is sure a bonus.

Failed a coolant exhaust gas test and had some light milkshake on the underside of the valve cover. Worst sludge i've ever seen in an engine from god knows how many previous owners. Don't feel like putting a new head or head gaskets on a questionable 200k engine, sooooo engine out time. Good excuse for cleaning up the engine bay with the engine out at least. I'm within a few hours of Titan Engines so hopefully I can just drive down there and pick up a fresh reman engine.

Got around to installing a new shift knob and leather boot at least!

1974 Strap-On - uh, Snap-On, tool chest. Thing must weigh 60 lbs empty! This will supplement the toobox its sitting on as well as a smaller one that was there before it. Now I just gotta find a place to put the smaller one (it has my sockets and wrenches), and get the whole mess re-organized. Wife is a professional Organizer, so she'll help out.

Quick question..... Does anyone know if you can put sound deadener on the transmission tunnel...I know it can get very warm which is why we have the foil protection on the side of the carpet but just not sure if I should slap some deadener in that area ??
Any ideas anyone ??

I put it on mine. Took the unbearable temps down to a comfortable level. It was absolutely unbearable in the summer. The only problem was it lifted the console up a bit and I had to push down a bit to put the screws in, but it wasn’t bad. 80mil I think.
