I’ll try to keep this short. So I’ve long known about fcpeuro.com offering lifetime warranty on ALL items except for consumables (not aerosols but oils that can be replaced/captured are covered) apparently carparts.com is following the same model, and offers the much harolded group34 Odyssey battery with that warranty. Has anyone used them?

I can't imagine the cost of shipping a battery back would be worth it versus getting a good warranty from a local vendor.

Even without shipping I have a hard time believing Life Time on a battery. Maybe it's just the Life of the battery😂

My 2004 ran till new engine was too much that was last April 22. I guarantee that will never happen again with any AGM battery. A Nickle iron battery will last forever Ford 1908 Batts, still in use today.
You would need 10 of these $6227.30 But your Great grand kids will love them.

Amp Hours Capacity
500 Ah
Volts
1.2V/Cell
Clear
$622.73
Nickel Iron (Ni-Fe) Battery quantity

No thanks. I'm familiar with that technology and there are reasons it's not a popular technology for automotive use. For one example this is from Wikipedia... "Due to its low specific energy, poor charge retention, and high cost of manufacture, other types of rechargeable batteries have displaced the nickel–iron battery in most applications."

Seems you understand the lifetime warranty correctly. I have been using FCPs warranty for years and send my oil back, air filter, spark plugs etc back. Free oil changes for my BMWs! FCP recently stopped issuing refunds. Instead they are giving you store credit. Not as good as it used to be. I see no exclusions to batteries on carparts.com so I think you are right, lifetime on batteries.

Wouldn’t it still be only like $50-60 to ship the replacement? Shipment to you appears to be free… so?

Sure, or I can go to Costco and get a new battery when it inevitably dies in less than three years for $0 each time.

Of course I say that while the oldest (working) car battery I own is five years old, and is whatever the PO bought for my TJ.

Costco Interstate at $140 vs Odyssey at $320. My Costco is now testing batteries being returned. No more automatic replacement.

I'm OK with the store credit. I buy everything I can from them for my golf R
