"Pacing myself" build

I'll second or third or wherever I'm in line at...

It's a new year, and not much going on with the jeep. The rear brakes make a horrible noise when cold, especially when backing up. I've pulled them apart twice and cleaned/lubed everything and all I can come up with is some wonky pad material causing the noise.
Yet again, I have made some changes to my coms. I ditched the cup holder mount idea. My wife hated it, so I upgraded. Thanks honey! Lol!

I put my GMRS mobile back in the spot I previously had it, then got the Yaesu FTM-200D for my Ham radio. I put the faceplate on a Lido mount. Pretty happy with this radio so far. The quality and receiver sensitivity is next level better, although the Wouxun is good quality for a Chinese radio. I ran a dedicated power wire direct from the battery to a distribution block that I mounted under the dash, then ran the supplied cables to their homes for both radios. The lido mount has a quick disconnect, so I can remove it very easily, along with the main unit behind the console. I can have the entire radio removed from the jeep in 15 seconds. Also handy if I'm somewhere that has questionable sticky fingers. I can throw the faceplate and mic in my security box under the seat.

My brakes were doing the same thing. They haven’t the last couple of weeks but it was a horrible groan when we were at freezing or below.

This is the 2nd failure. Might have about 7k miles on them. First one failed on the passenger side. The liner came apart.

Now the driver side is coming out and making noise.

I emailed Steve on the first failure and he sent me a new one. Emailed him again a couple days ago about the 2nd failure and got no response back.

I got a email from Steve Tuesday about the bushings for my SwayLoc and he said he was short handed and just swapped right now so you might give him a day or two to reply.

Well, 2 weeks and 2 emails, and I got nothing back from Steve, so I just sucked it up and ordered a new one from his website. I'm going to source out an alternative, possibly Grainger, for future spares. Still not sure why I'm having these failures. I haven't done any serious wheeling in so long, I don't think I remember how to put it in 4Lo. :(

Sounds like you guaranteed you'll get a response tomorrow

The FK ends jjvw linked are much tighter than whatever Steve includes with the swayloc, granted the FKs are expensive.

That's crazy. I've had mine for two years now (at least) and we all know the terrible environment I subject my Jeep to. My rod ends are still going strong. I was going to upgrade them to the new sealed RockJock ones, but I don't see the point until the ones I have are toast.
