In the process of replacing my leaking radiator I noticed the front body mount was missing what I assume to be a bolt going thru it up into the frame bracket.

Photo1 shows its current condition. I noticed the circular shiny marks around the bottom of the frame bracket which drew my attention to it.

Photo 2 shows the hole I drilled into what I'm assuming is the remnants of the broken bolt.

I decided before I go any further I should check in with those who are more knowledgeable to see if I could get some guidance on how to deal with this.

Is what I drilled into likely the remnant of the mounting bolt & how feasable is it for me to be able to continue to drill it out larger & get an EZ out into it & back it out?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Before you continue to drill in what may or may not be a body mount bolt see how deep you can get a body mount bolt into that fitting. Hard to believe someone snapped one of those bolts off.

I don't find it at all hard to believe, depending on where that jeep spent most of its life. Isn't there a tiny bit of access from inside the grille (the radiator side)? I have a spare grille but I have to move some stuff to get to it to get a picture. My thought was that you could see if the other half of the bolt is still sticking through the top.

But if it isn't a body mount bolt, what do you think it is, all nestled up there inside the body mount, perfectly centered on the hole where the bolt would go?

Yes, it did end up being the body mount bolt. I ended up going up to the next size EZ out with the bigger drill size. The smaller size I'd started with wasn't going to handle the amount of pressure needed to break that bolt loose. Luckily I'd gotten the drilled hole well centered.

This Jeep has not been babied, nor abused ( maybe a little).
