Help me pick an ACC carpet color for my khaki interior

So what was the correct color to order if you have a 98 TJ Green Sahara with the Saddle (Tan?) interior. I want a dead match if possible and given it doesn't get wet, I'd go with the ACC Essex. It's $500 something from Rock Auto but appears to be the same cost from Quadratec, thus would order there.

If you were restoring a 1955 chevrolet and wanted the correct type of carpeting, I would say go with the 600 series loop.
I do not think it would look correct in our Jeeps, and I don't think its quite as dense as the 800 series pile.

Years ago I was a sales manager for an automotive restoration company and we were a vendor for ACC, so I'm pretty familiar with their products.
I have used their 600 series carpeting in a couple old cars that I have owned and have been happy with it, but like I said
I don't think it would look right in a Jeep.
I think it’s more a preference thing, I had a 1995 Mazda Miata that came factory with black loop pile carpet, I loved it … also had loop pile and diamond vinyl in a 71 240z … I am considering having ACC do loop pile for my 81 corvette, technically my model car came with loop pile … but undecided.

But I hear ya, loop pile would be cool in a CJ or even YJ, seems like a style mismatch in a TJ/LJ

I was just at the upholstery shop and saw he had a pile of swatches from ACC. I dug through them and found what I think is the closest color I've seen to my '98's carpet. It's not one they offer for Jeep carpets but I'm going to see if I can custom order it.

i pulled out my khaki carpet and installed bedtread. carpet has no place in an off road vehicle. ordered my f-150 with plastic flooring as well. i would just ruin carpet anyhow.

Have a bed rug currently, the increased heat from the floor is noticeable on long drives.

Pics 4&5 have the new cargo floor carpet installed. #4 has new carpet over the wheel well as well. #5 still had the OEM carpet over the wheel well.

Essex is about three times as thick. I have Essex. But if I had it to do again I'd get Cutpile. Essex is like something out of a Caddilac. Its almost to thick. Coupled with sound deadener and heat shield it makes rubber mats not fit right. But I'm sure it cuts down on noise more.

I finally got my medium doeskin carpet in. I think it's about at close as you can get for 97-98 tan carpet. I wish I would have gotten mass backed now. This stuff is lighter (not thinner) than factory carpet.

I think we discussed this on another thread about paint-matching, but remind me what your interior code is?

Did we land on a color for khaki? I have been thinking about switching from the bedrug back to carpet.

Not sure if it was mentioned before in this thread, but when I added the Essex carpet in mine, I emailed ACC directly and they sent me samples of all the colors I wanted to my house. This was free. I then picked the color I wanted and ordered from Rockauto which had at that time at least lower prices than directly from ACC.

I had about 7 samples sent and never found a direct match for the Khaki (I have a 99 Sport) I was happy with. I instead put in black carpet to create a two-toned interior. I really like it especially since I have a black Boom Mat headliner on the hardtop.

If I remember correctly ACC had more colors for Cutpile than Essex. I really like the Essex. I ordered it with the mass backing as well. I am not using floor mats though, so I do not have the fitment issue that Moab did.

Yeah, it was a whole process to get to that color. I found it on my own but still didn't deem it perfect. I sent them a sample of my OEM carpet and they said I had indeed found the closest match.

One thing I learned is that they don't have big rolls of OEM material they are making these from. They have the colors they have (which is a lot) and list stuff they think matches per model. They also aren't perfect (just like any other parts business). Many resellers offer ACC carpet, some cheaper than others. I went with whomever I went with because they spent a lot of time and effort sending me samples and letting me send them stuff then matching it. Also I got a "custom" color carpet for the TJ which they made just for me which also means non-returnable btw.

I don't have my factory carpet anymore. I have a bedbug and think that charcoal black color doesn't look too bad either. I was hoping someone found a good khaki color replacement. I guess I could compare it to the side of the seats. Ordered a few free samples today.
