What did you do to your TJ today?

Got a flat fixed and did Shake down run down a few rough wash board roads to one of the places we ride our atvs at which is really more of a dirtbike trail. Need to adjust the bumpstops almost a inch. The rear dosent like to flex i guess

Didn’t you already get an engine?

Yea I found a used engine but it had more miles on it than my original one. It’s a good running engine but it’s got the same initial piston chatter as my original engine too. Once I get my old one rebuilt and running I’m going to go through this one as well and always have a spare sitting around lol for about $600 give or take I can have all the parts for a rebuild and save all the labor by doing it myself and learning a lot of useful stuff a long the way

I was originally going that route until I found a $300 engine 20 minutes from me and rolled the dice. My old engine the #1 piston skirt broke but I believe it was due to a wrist pin that was sticking and causing the piston the drag. If you catch it early enough you can swap out pistons and rings and rod bearings and be good to go.

I’ve gotten to the point where I’m ready to put the cam bearings back in and I need to get my pins pressed into the new pistons and I can reassemble it all. I’m curious as to the markings on the block. In the FSM it has letter sizes for pistons A through D or E and each one is a few thousandths bigger than the previous one. My block has one B and 3 C’s but so far all my cylinders have been close to spec. I guess when I fit them in the block I’ll know for sure lol

Yes sir! A few more parts to go. Feels like an endless list to put together for a lift but I think it is getting shorter. Still need a rear trackbar, bump stops, shocks, extended brake lines, wheel spacers, drive lines and a couple more tires....... maybe next paycheck..... ;-) sorry for the list sometimes I just have to remind myself.
