What did you do to your TJ today?

Painted the rear seat brackets today.( they were just annoying showing a bit of dirt and rust)
And had to return some floor mats that were moulded Specifically for the TJ ….they won’t fit very well with bed rug as the carpet is too thick. So went down the road and grabbed a generic $40 pair of standard mats which will do the job for now. They actually fit pretty well. 👍

Not sure I'm crazy about the chrome grill overlay on my Jeep.

The actual grill has some damage in one place from a previous accident at some point (assume the same one that dented the front of both fenders). Does anyone make a plain (non-angry) black grill overlay? I'm tempted to plastidip this one to try it but I just don't think the finish is going to hold up being applied over chrome.

Drove the Jeep an hour and a half home yesterday with about half of that being highway miles. It could sure benefit from a hardtop if I was going to do that often. It handled 75 on the highway just fine, but it's pretty noisy.

The seats need some attention too... Who is the best source for new bushings for the tilt / tumble seats?

Welcome to the legions of chrome 😉

It doesn't bother me as much with the silver metallic as it does on some colors, but I'd kinda like to see how it looks with a black grill instead.

Try the plasty dip method I used it on my bumper for six months to a year then decided I liked it so I’ve made it black permanently

Cheap enough to try, I suppose...

Does anybody make a standard black overlay? I don't want Angry, Gladiator or Sharky...

I couldn’t find a plain overlay when I was looking for one, they all were angry!… my grill was bad rock pitted when I got it so I masked the grill off and shot it with rattle can black paint… it was easy to mask off, scuffed up the paint with a scotch pad, shoot with some rattle can primer and then the paint… easy peasy!… word of advise if you haven’t used plastidip, that shit is a bitch to peel off!… ymmv

Round 5... maybe 6...of days of my alternator complete. Reinstalled alternator with a swapped out rectifier bridge. Clutch removed from my AC compressor while waiting for a replacement. Drive to work successful. Ready for snow wheeling and an overnight camp out at Waldo or Charlton Lake Sunday/Monday.
