What did you do to your TJ today?

Installed my new hardtop and washed the Jeep.

This is the first hardtop I've had. It's a new Bestop my wife bought for me. The left rear doesn't seem to be seated properly and the driver's side door closes hard. There doesn't seem to be any adjustment available. Am I missing something?

Have you tried adjusting the door hinges or the windshield frame yet?

But if you paint it black you will be just another TJ on 35's . However , if you paint the hood # 514 Red , AND had a matching color tow rig.........;)

Two words....

Racing stripe 🤟

Along the lines of early commercial VW bus colors, red oxide primer is a color I like.

I have not. Any idea where I can find info how to do that?

Well your door hinges are a torx bit on the exterior of the Jeep and then the windshield frame can be adjusted by the bolt on your roll bar which is located just behind each front seat. It’s also a big security torx bit at least on mine. You loosen it up and you can push or pull on the frame of the windshield if say the upper front of your door is rubbing the windshield frame.

Those tamper-resistant torx bolts on the side bars were an absolute bear to loosen on mine. If you have the same trouble, You might want to hit them with some penetrating oil.

I tend to leave the bolts that secure the top to the tub loose and leave the latches on the windshield frame loose, then I have some tolerance to work with while I check the door fit. Then I tighten the tub bolts down before I secure the latches to the top of the windshield frame.

I appreciate your response. I think I could figure that out now, how to adjust the door. However, I do not believe that is the whole problem.

I'll get some better pics but you can see that the left side doesn't seem to be seated on the tub. I searched for the topic and now I think I need to check squareness of the tub and the distances from the windshield frame to the rear of the tub.

I wonder if I remove the attaching hardware, lift and recenter, starting from the back instead of the front...

Kinda frustrating that almost nothing I do with this Jeep happens without compromise/adjustments/swearing, etc.

Got it all together but the front yoke seal seems a bit tight. I ran out of daylight before I could put it back on the transmission so I’ll work on that tomorrow and getting the driveshaft and the pinion angle set up. I might try to get another seal and swap out the front yoke seal a second time just to be on the safe side. Anyone else have a tight front yoke after SYE install? It turns but it feels tighter than the tail end.

It looks like the pin on the door hinge may be worn. Look at how the hinge is misaligned
