I’ve recommended Zone lifts many times on this forum. I’ve purchased a 3” Zonr lift for an XJ. I’ve purchased extended rear sway bar links, all without trouble.

Then my 17-year old son ordered their rear angled trackbar relocation bracket. It’s advertised for 4-4.5” lift and coupled with an SYE/DC. When we got it I knew there was no way in hell it would keep the rear adjustable trackbar out of the gas tank skid. I measured the angle as 9.5*. I compared it to the angle of the Currie which is 19.5*. It barely in misses the gas tank skid.

Despite my son calling and telling them that the item won’t work at the advertised lift height (he’s at 4.25”), they would not help him at all. After it was all said and done he got $14 back. This is a shit company. They are owned by Sport Truck USA, a division of FOX. They own other companies like BDS, JKS, Crawltek, et al. Had to rant because it pisses me off and people should know in advance that their products may be misadvertised.

Not excusing poor service, but one thought. The Zone installation instructions reference the stock track bar, saying an adjustable one will be needed for more than 5" of lift. Whereas the Rock Jock instructions reference their adjustable track bar, could this give a clue to the fitting / interference issues?

I've never delt with Zone but this seems to be the trend for more and more companies.

Having ordered the amount of parts I've done over the past 2.5 years I've had to deal with my share of not so great companies.
But I feel bad for your son knowing that it's his hard earned money and not getting a part that will work.

Is the zone bracket the same one as jks?

I think currie tends to factor more considerations in their designs, like gas tank skid clearance, while companies like zone are just trying to put the joint in roughly the same orientation it was in before the axle got rolled back. Not that it helps your or your son any, just a thought on whether it's misadvertised vs designed without full comprehension of the situation. Not to mention, they've undoubtedly sold thousands of them to people who don't know about cycling their suspension so this might be the first time they've heard this, making it easy for them to assume you're the one doing something wrong.

On top of all that, once the company gets acquired into a mega corporation like that, the qualifications to take support calls gets reduced so somewhere near "must be able to fog a mirror".

Zone is stupid again then. There’s no way a stock bar will work up to 5”. The axle will be way off center (if you could ever get it bolted up on each end!). Further, it would still be smashing into the gas tank skid.

My guess is the Zone bracket is the same as the JKS, but the one pictured, and the JKS one are black, whereas the one we got was silver (zinc plated).

All good points. I sent a scathing letter telling them I had bought several things from them totaling more than $800 and I was now going to the forums to dissuade people from buying their products.

Of course, I told them more about their product than they probably know.
