Solitude

My wife has told me "go get on that mountain bike and don't come back until you are smiling".

For me, I like projects right up to the point where it is time to finish it. I HATE prepping, priming, and painting with a passion and I think those of you who do it are weirdos :) . I enjoy and get lost in mechanical projects and will spend hours in the garage fabricating, making things fit/work, and installing. But I am not going to do anymore than hit it with some flat black Krylon when I am done, if that.

One of my favorite things to get lost in is Skiing. I can spend all day on the slopes by myself with only the occasional chit chat on the chair back up. Unfortunately I only get to do it for one week a year, fortunately that 1 week is 2 weeks away!!

I"m planning a day trip to ski this Thursday, then a longer trip Feb 5-8. We have seven resorts within 2 hours. It's pretty awesome. I just picked up my first set of personal skis a few weeks ago. I'm going to be prepping, priming, and painting them into something awesome. I'd have you over for that part, but I'm sure it would just be weird! 🤣

Only issue is the wife keeps saying she wants to come over and organize it.

I have one of those too:rolleyes:
If you're at all like me, it's organized chaos. To the untrained eye, it's an absolute mess. However, I know where everything is in that mess!

Exactly. She doesn't get it...but I don't really care! She tries to "help" and I find my stuff all over the place. Her idea of organization and mine are far different. I tend to go by amount of usage and type of tool. I'm not sure what her method is, but it sure doesn't make sense to me. I've chastised her before for moving things and she always comes back with, "how can you even tell?" There is a method to my mess, don't screw it up, woman!

Yes it worked for my dad and grandfather and works just fine for me. I know the general area things are. The problem with having so much space is I seem to find space to collect too many “come in handys”.
When my dad passed we wanted to put his favorite words on his headstone. “G-damn it I know I have it somewhere”.

Solitude right now sanding my ski’s in prep for painting after our Thursday run while watching Anne of Green Gables with my girls. Yeah, the skis and bindings are beat to hell, but I’ll report back with the final outcome. Come on over and have a beer and cigar @gasiorv!
