What did you do to your TJ today?

I got my KC lights windshield hinge light mounts painted to match and got around to installing them today.

Oh yeah I'm sure he would love some of those right now, couldn't even taste them right now I bet much less keep them down ! We have those 50's dinners , called Johnny Rockets , great hamburgers and shakes ! So you never got to see the temp mall ! I thought it was so cool and from what I read it was very popular with the people. If I lived there that would have been a must see before they pulled down. It really served it's community well after the earthquake and was a big hit, sad to see it go.

How's the quality?

It cracked on the side putting it together so I used fiberglass tape and JB weld to reinforce it. I need to move the locker switches so I don't punch them accidentally shifting on cold AX15 mornings. I should have found a different place to mount the GMRS and CB RJ45 bulkhead mount couplers...not a huge deal to route them around the dash. And I didn't leave enough space for seat heater switches but the can go the center console.

That was strange driving my front wheel drive Jeep to work today. No vibrations. I didn't realize how bad they had gotten at all speeds. So I'm buying new joints for the rear driveshaft today to see if that fixes the problem. Any recommendations? The local parts store has 8 different spicer options that say they fit.

I'd take it to a driveline shop and have them check the balance...they should have the right Spicer u joints and if they don't they're not worth going to...

Apparently, stores list spicer joints, but only carry cheaper versions in the store. I found a pair of Spicer 5-1310X at one store and I'll go there today and pick them up. It will cost a little more than online, but I'll have it together before the snow get here on Saturday.

I'll both in the rear driveshaft since I have it out, toss the sticky one, and keep the other in the used parts been as an emergency spare.

Do you have Oreilys? When I did my axle u-joints, I messed one up and they had that one in stock. Maybe they will have driveshaft ones too.

I found two at an O'Reilly's here in town. Two other stores had one. I have the driveshaft out and on the bench, so I may as well do both of them so they are new together and wear the same. The other store had generic versions like Moog and Doreman, but I didn't feel like going that route on something like this. A head light or non-moving part sure.

If this doesn't fix the issue, I'm taking it to the shop that did my gearing to see if they can figure it out.

Just want to thank you guys for all the good advice posted on this site. I have been chasing a shimmy in the steering when getting up to 60 mph or so, or when taking turns around 45 or 50. I did have a bad tie rod end at the steering knuckle, and my power steering pump went bad, but fixing those things didn't help, SO, I finally got to go to the tire shop and get my tires rebalanced, and SURE ENOUGH, the left front was way off.

Got all four done and rotated, and it drives like a dream! Thanks for your advice that unless you see an obvious problem with the steering or suspension components, it is probably tire balance issues.

I'm so glad to have that behind me--I would've started there 1st if the other things hadn't happened that had me thinking they might be the culprit ;)

How's the quality?

the custom3dfab one is okay. print quality is great but the attachment of the panel to the brackets as it comes is weak as fuck. i had to beef mine up when i was using that one. the switches stuck out a bit too much for my liking so i ended up scrapping it and making my own.

recently came across another one from printiparts on etsy and it is better than the custom3dfab one. it's closer to the one otrattw used to make with the more recessed switches and more finished look. no complaints with that one yet other than the holes on the lower portion not being centered horizontally.
