Has my rear spring mount been re-welded?

It looks as if the left rear spring mount has been re-welded to the frame rail. The weld looks different from the other side. Could this cause any problems with tracking, etc

Look man, if the jeep is not driving good, and that is very common, we can likely help you-

A jeep not tracking is normally a toe, caster, control arm, track bar, or steering linkage problem- and can be a combination of those -

Tell is more and we usually can help.

Thanks for the advice. Ive already learned a lot here on the forum and everyone is more than helpfulI. It's not that it's bad. It's my first Jeep and I just don't know exactly what to expect. It drives good in the steering but seems to be a little wild on imperfections in the road. My tires are E rated Toyos, 305/70R16, on 16x10 wheels.

It can't be Re-welded until it's welded in the first place, and that is not a weld! Just sayin! No, it looks to be a stock Jeep assembly weld, if it bugs you clean it up and lay another bead over it. Done Deal.

E range need low pressure- 26 psi helps.

Learn the dry test to diagnose steering parts and stay with us.

I have literally replaced every wear item on the front end of my ‘97 but the last thing I changed, which turned out to be the most impactful, was the ball joints… mine was doing exact as you said, little weird in imperfections in the road… ball joints solved my problem… ymmv

You have to keep this in mind… these are anywhere from 17 - 26 year old vehicles… unless you know the vehicle history, expect to have to replace all the steering wear parts, end links, ball joints, sway bar bushings, steering shaft, etc… mine drove like $hit when I got it, bad neglected, but over the last couple of years and the replacement of the steering wear parts it steers as well as my Avalanche… instructions for replacement of most of those items are in the resource area, even how to do an alignment… most of these parts are not expensive and are not hard to do if you have standard tools a BFH and a want to do it yourself… Cheers!
