This is good to hear. IMO it's going to be a LONG time before the ICE is put to bed.

I can't remember the name of the movie right now but back in the 70's there was one about a kid who stole a gasoline powered car after they'd been outlawed and drove it across the country or something like that. Been too long for me.

Edit: I think this is the movie: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Chase

I watched this video the other day as Cleetus disassembled a brand new crate 7.3 Godzilla to add some Texas speed components before throwing it in a fox body and they discuss how the 7.3 is like an upgraded LS. May even share some components with an LT. The 7.3 hasn't been around that long either. There's gonna be some monster V8's for awhile.

I feel the same. I think there's a lot of room for improvement still. I just HATE how these companies have been publically jawboning about EV this, green that, "we're done with ICE" etc., all for political PR.

I've never heard of that one. There is a song (I can't remember the name) from around that time I think by REO Speedwagon talking about riding around in their uncle's farm in an old Plymouth after gas vehicles had been banned in the future. @Squatch do you know the song I'm talking about?

Since it was mentioned a few times, I ran a Buick in my first vehicle: ‘71 CJ5. The odd fire 225 Dauntless was pretty cool - and had a unique sound with headers and side pipes.

This thing would pull the front wheels off the ground (although not safely by any means…🙂).

I remember that movie. Three things I remember about it: it starred Lee Majors, he had buried his car somewhere (I think cars had been outlawed), and he was trying to drive to "Free California". Oh, and a fourth thing: What a cheesy movie! Even as a kid, I thought this was movie was lame. Of course, it was a made-for-TV movie, and it starred Lee Majors. That doomed it from the start.

Now I like Lee Majors... At least in Fall Guy....

Yes it was a VERY cheesy movie. It just popped into my head when we were talking about the demise of the ICE.

Mine was a 67 CJ5 with the Dauntless engine. I had good times in mine.

It's funny some of the useless stuff we remember. Can't remember the wife's cell phone number to save my life, but I remember some B-rated movie from the '70s. WTH?

Yep, I have tons of worthless information rolling around between my ears. No wife but I can't remember other phone numbers anymore. Remember when we HAD to?

I'll bet @Zorba still remembers his important phone numbers! ;)

My brain is full of all sorts of useless information. Childhood phone numbers - both ours and friend's, login codes for the colleges Univac 90/70 system - the one they got RID OF in 1980, operating commands for same, poke codes for the TRS-80, license plate numbers...

And yea, my wife's phone number!
