What did you do to your TJ today?

My 69 rode like a buckboard.

You know I’m really even not a huge Corvette guy the success of the car does amaze me - The original had 150 hp.

The only ones that make my blood boil were some 1963 special production cars that they made about five of- There was one in a flood in Florida and it was so light it floated in the garage.

If she 's used to riding in the TJ , a Corvette is a Freeking Timemachine. :sneaky:

You know I was thinking that’s what got me in trouble was when I put my foot in it it came out of the hole so fast I nearly hit a car in front of me before I can get around it- The transaxle cars do not spin- They just launch.

When I jerked the wheel because it was all happening faster than I anticipated and she was pinned to the seat she was absolutely going crazy.

Some of us are out doing things

New blower motor was delivered. I’ve tried a couple things to remedy my fan speed issues. Only works on high so it’s better than nothing, but I’m sure a new fan wouldn’t hurt anything. I’ve replaced the resistor, I’ve replaced the switch, I’ve replaced the pigtail for the resistor. None of those made a difference besides the switch only worked in a different position. Maybe I’ll figure it out when I tear the dash out.

I fought that issue for 1 year with an xj. I swapped fuel pump twice installed a timer on my fan to cool it down, heat shield.
I ended up finding the problem while switching injectors. It was a leaking injector.

copy that. I need to go look up what the recommend interval is to change the injectors. I mean they are 18 years old now with 90k+ miles. probably cant hurt to change out anyway.

currently acquiring the kit needed to do a good maintence day. Change out the oil in the diffs, transfer case, engine, coil & plugs. I need to go get some antifreeze and do a cooling system flush.

New seat covers were delivered today as well so I went ahead and got them installed before work tonight. They definitely look better than the old shit and cheaper than getting them reupholstered for now. I also lubed up the hinges for the rear hatch and the rear seat. Finally got some of the sand cleaned up from the beach over the summer lol

I'd been on a work trip, so I drove it for the first time in almost a month. Heard a rattle in the blower fan, so I opened it up to check.

Sure enough, some pine straw and a leaf rolling around in there. Lots of dust caked on the fins too.

I had nothing else going on today so I decided to clean it up. I cleaned it dry with just a 2" chip brush, not pressing too hard as I didn't want to break any plastic.

Then I hit the chip brush with two light shots of a Simple Green/water mix I keep in a spray bottle just to clean it up and used a toothbrush on a few heavy/stubborn dust spots.

Reinstalled the blower and fired it up; no noises.

All in all I used about 30 minutes of my day off, but it was an enjoyable 30 minutes.
