Question about Zone 4.25 inch lift

I guess bump stops are made for cutting regardless. They dont know what type fenders you use or not.

And looks like 3" kit is sold with same stops as 4,25 kit, but i could be wrong.

Maybe someone with the 4.25 kit can tell us if the instructions direct the installer to cut the bump extensions as well as how to go about determining the appropriate length.

I do think that we can assume the Zone kit is based around stock fenders. This isn't the kind of lift kit someone with highlines would normally consider.

How crucial is an front or rear adj. Trackbar?

With the Zone kit, there's a bracket to relocate the rear trackbar, and the front is moved by drilling a new mounting hole. My Jeep has the Zone 3" lift, and I couldn't tell the axles are slightly off center. Knowing they were slightly off center bugged me enough that I eventually installed an adjustable front track bar.

Measuring from the outer edge of my tires to the outer edge of my fender flares, the rear axle is off center about 1/4". You really can't tell by looking, and tire edges and fender flares aren't precise points of reference. The front was off center about 3/4". With the adjustable front track bar, I'm now off about 1/8" off center. This measurement was made using a plumb bobs hanging from the center of my bumper, the center of my frame and a laser level to get things aligned.

I can't tell a difference in how my Jeep drives before and after centering the front axle, but my mind is at ease.

The taller the lift the more important track bar length becomes. At 3" I'd consider an adjustable length front track bar and a rear track bar relocation bracket.

I suspected that, thanks for confirming. That was one hesitation to just buying the combo kit.. because I figured there were other items to get, putting the price near the OME Deluxe kit.

A $600 kit with a front trackbar and relocation bracket... should land around 800-900. If that's the case.. the one kit value proposal becomes more reasonable.

I had this kit on my 2000 TJ with 33s and it rode great. That jeep had 3.07 gears so i rarely saw 5th gear, but it rode great and did everything I needed it to do offraod. Will probably do the same kit on my 99, maybe with different shocks just as people are commenting on Ranchos here.

This thread was 4 years old. :) I've had the Zone lift on my current Jeep for 6 years with zero issues. I bought the Rancho RS5000X shocks just to see if they rode better than the Zone hydro shocks that were discontinued............................

Yea I saw that it was an old thread, but here we are.... The guy I sold my 2000 to said the front right shock was bad, only had around 10K miles on it, so I will probably go with the Ranchos like you mentioned above. Thanks for the input
