What did you do to your TJ today?

Installed smittybilt bumper. Does anyone know how to get the inner mounting bolts without dropping the tank?

Yes. Passenger side is easy, driver not so much. On mine I used a couple long extensions with a wobbly end(?) and was able to reach the inners by going in between the tank and the frame. It was a PITA but it's possible. My '04 didn't have inner holes and when I made my rear bumper I had to drill my own so maybe they're not as far inboard.

I wished I had hands that small yesterday while trying to install a new low beam headlight bulb in my father's 2020 Grand Cherokee. Literally the most impossible task, WTF were they thinking with that design? A combination of going through the little fender door and going from above and I still cut the shit out of my hands.

My Scion requires you to remove the battery or the entire headlight housing to change a bulb. Stupid design.

Today was brake day, new BMB pads and Centric rotors all around. I've been sitting on the pads for a year now and I've had the rotors for 2 years.
The L/F caliper has a "chunk" missing out of the face so I'm shopping calipers, does anyone know of a caliper that doesn't use a phenolic piston?

I'm obviously going to have to readjust my driving style, if I start braking at my normal markers I'm coming up very short of the limit lines

That is dumb, but is there at least room to swap the bulb out? On my 2009 BMW I have to remove the airbox on the driver side (2 bolts and a screw clamp) and then I can fit half my body in there if I wanted to and can easily see/access the bulb. With this grand cherokee I could barely even see the bulb using a mirror.

Made my phone mount/charger.

My head unit has wireless Carplay so my phone usually stays in my pocket.

This is for when I need to charge it or possibly use it as a trail camera.

Started with the Daystar upper tray

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001O0FY6A/?tag=wranglerorg-20

And a Mag-Safe charger

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B5KX8ZNP/?tag=wranglerorg-20

I didn't use any of the mounts that came with the charger, just the ball.

Drilled a hole in the Daystar and threaded in the mounting ball

Attached the charger and ran the USB cable.

I REALLY dislike that tacky branding on the front of the tray so I'll have to do something about that.

Holds the phone securely and charges it quickly. The camera points over the hood so can be used to record a ride if I wanted to, though I imagine it would fill up the phone fast.

Picked up my Jeep today from Collin County Offroad where they installed 4.56 gears, an Eaton Truetrac in the rear and Powertrax no-slip lunchbox locker in the front.

I actually used sixth gear on the way home. So that's what it's supposed to feel like...

I have an Eaton Truetrac in my rear diff of my 06 Rubicon and my front OEM locker just died. Why did you decide on the Powertrax Vs. another Eaton Truetrac up front? I definitely like the lower price but what was your reasoning?

I was not successful without dropping the tank. I also had to elongate a couple holes in the cross member because the template did not line up with the bumper holes well enough. Although I was shocked and amazed at how easy it was to drop the tank especially compared to my last CJ.

I had to do the same also, good feeling to know it’s secured all the way now for getting yanked out of trouble
