Official Formula 1 thread

I agree. But are you surprised it will be in Vegas? With all the fake news and twisted angles on the stories be presented by DTS, the fan base has bloomed. Leave it to Vegas to want to capitalize on it.
I'm not surprised at all. I think from a business POV it makes much more sense than Miami.

It wasn't bad this season but since added drama as always. I like that they showed Gunther a lot. Dude is a character in a good way.

Beyond all limits about Max and Lewis last season on F1tv was really good and what DTS should have been I thought.
Gunther... 'Ok.. now I can swear...'

DTS is taking much credit for the increased attention F1 is getting. I've spoken to half a dozen folks recently who are all self-proclaimed F1 Addicts, but who never heard of Senna, Hurbert, Clark or Lauda... forget Fangio.

I ask.. how long are you a fan.
They answer,.. Started 'following' after the first season of DTS.

Gunther is a mad lad and one of my favorite team principles. I like Zac Brown a lot too as he seems to genuinely love racing and a true fan first. I think Zac, Haas, ESPN picking up viewing rights and COTA has way more to do with the popularity increase in America. It was difficult to even watch in the US for a while there and nbc12 sports wasn't the best.

Lots of interesting changes this year but one that I don't like is ... no Johnny Herbert! :( I loved his knowledge and enthusiasm. He will be missed.

Same here! Hopefully it's not a situation where the top teams are sandbagging that much. We will see what happens when they open them in Q3 today.

You know there is some sandbagging going on. FP3 is going to offer a bit more insight, but it's all about Quali!!

Would love to see Alonso kill it.

How about Seb. Calls to say he would come up and fill a seat if Stroll can't drive and they tell him.. yeah, no thanks.

At least he got it up to the top 5. Russell out qualifying Hamilton. Hulkenberg coming out swinging with a top 10 qualifying after being gone.

Mclaren looking pitiful in qualifying..

Color me disappointed the front two rows are the same people.

Happy to see Merc down the table. Bummed Alonso didn't get a little higher.

he's the only reason i'm getting up to watch the race.. that and secret hopes hulkenberg rips through the field and gets that podium

F1 is in desperate need of some new blood up the field. Lewis wins 6 in a row, Rosberg wins 1, Lewis wins another, Max then wins 3 in a row... Sole domination of the sport is the worst thing about it.

too many hurdles in place for any new blood unfortunately but i agree..

plus thinking about putting the current generation of human in those cars.. i wont even let the millennials in my office use scissors let alone a rocket ship
