Went to sign in and would not accept my information. So, had to start new account. It had been only a couple of months since i had been on here. Any Idea what happened? But Thanks for letting me back in. Currently own a 2001 wrangler, 4.0 with 5spd. 31x10.50x15 tires. Has been regeared to 4.10 with Eaton trac lock. Going in tomorrow for lift and then new rims. Also need to do a NV3550 to AX15 swap.

Same setup here except I’m on 3.07’s with a locked front open rear. Great for DD’ing and the trail use I do. What makes you want to swap to the AX-15

Do you know your old username?Maybe @Chris can help

Let me know what email account you used for your other forum account and I can merge the accounts.

I only show one account under that email address. That means one of two things:
  1. Your other account is under a different email address.
  2. You have this forum confused with another forum (i.e. wranglerforum.com)
I suspect it's the latter since that happens way more often than you'd think.

I had my NV3550 rebuilt. Didn't work, they rebuilt it again. Still have problems. They always seem to put wrong oil in and I've changed trans oil out each time to Redline MTL with just a little help. The NV3550 is no longer produced so rebuilt is all that you can buy. The AX15 is still being made with lots of improvements since first introduced and I can buy a new one.

Fair enough, I love my 3550- got almost 300K on it with little to no problems. I think engineering wise it’s slightly stronger with slightly steeper gearing than the AX-15. But not being able to purchase a replacement is a looming concern of mine.
