My LJ has a rear spare tire mount, and a winch bumper up front.

The cover that I’m leaning towards is the Seal Skin covers. They’re guaranteed to fit perfectly on specific vehicles, but with the added accessories, I would think not.

The reason for the car cover is that I plan to use a bikini top for most of the summer, but here in the PNW we will have some rainy days.. and I’ll just throw it on when needed.

thanks for your recommendations

Rain gear makes a nice one too if just covering the inside.

Thanks guys, but just for clarification, I’m looking for the best way to keep rain out (we can get heavy rains) and the cover would need to be able to fit in conjunction with the safari top. I‘ve seen a number of these different brands for sale, I’m just curious about first hand experiences with having dry seats after the rain hits!

The trick with any cover if you’re going to have the top on is to not let water pool- As long as you do that they’ll all
do pretty good

The best cover of all the ones I’ve had is the shiny one from quadratec because it’s got extra room for accessories, Is limber and easy to handle, and sheds water well- Plus it doesn’t weigh a lot and folds up real compact-

The key to me is painting the front edge one color in the rear another it will greatly take the confusion out of putting the thing on the jeep

All the best
Andy

I have only used it a couple times when out since mine stays in the garage. I think it fits well with the soft top down and adjusted right but not sure about with the bikini, will likely not fit as good with that on.

FWIW

I had a bestop model but it wouldn’t clear the canopy. Not sure what model it was, but I believe it was a trail cover.

I have a similar rain gear cover and it clears the canopy, but the hooks catch on things and I find the removal/installation process borderline infuriating for that reason.

Surprisingly, my favorite cover is a cheap silver Rampage cover from Amazon that clears my front bumper and 35” spare. Easy to throw the cover on and wrap it around the tire, body, and bumper. I wrote a big “R” in marker to help me find the correct orientation.

RainGear. Fits with top on/off and half door uppers on/off but as others have mentioned, if the top is down, make sure you secure the buckles and put a pool noodle above the front seats. Otherwise you get this.

Jeep did stay dry

PS bonus points for RainGear being a US based small business.

Alternative idea for your situation: run a frameless top like a Rampage or a Trektop. Pull the windows and you have a safari style top. If the rain comes toss the windows back in and you are completely waterproof. It would take just a few more minutes to install than a cover, but more practical in my opinion. And you will never get the big puddle on top after a big rain which happens with just about every cover.
