Car pics too cool not to share

I bring you guys another Honda, an early NSX with only 32,000 miles. This one kind of goes with @Squatch original theme. This one was local to me, as in I've definitely floated over it at some point. The story is it was reported stolen in '03, then found and pulled from the river in '19 with two other vehicles. I remember talking to some of the guys in the loop when they pulled this car out. The kept it pretty hush-hush due to suspected insurance fraud. Anyway, they just sold this thing via online auction for $8,500.

According to the laws of nature, I'm pretty sure I'm the rightful owner of this car. There's no way that my pee hasn't been on this car. ;)

I see a '68 or '69 (I can't see the door handles) with a big block hood. It looks good. I also see aftermarket grills, which leads me to think it might not be a "numbers car", so it may or may not be a big block car. What do you have here?

1968 - built on 4/1/68 she turns 55 next month - 100% NCRS "correct" numbers matching "grills" included. 4spd, 427/400 tri-power car.
Still can tell 68 vs 9 from the front. Running lights & turn signals on a 68's have clear lenses & yellow bulbs. 69's are reverse yellow lenses with white bulbs. Re: Grills, the 68's had 6 louvers, all except the top one's leading edge were painted silver from the factory.

I read an article on this one. New owner is hoping to restore it, but says that at the very least, it'll be a "track car". I wish him all the luck in the world! (y)

Absolutely.... Beautiful car. Can we get some back story on it? I can KICK myself in the ass for not buying the 68 tri-power I'd looked at when I got out of the Army in 1992. Price back then was $15K if I remember correctly.

The first Batmobile. Constructed over 3 years from 1960-1963 by Forrest Robinson, the Batmobile was based on a 1956 Oldsmobile 88 chassis and drivetrain.

Extensive fiberglass work was used to create the body, which was designed to emulate the Batmobile featured in the comics of this era.

The car was officially licensed by DC Comics for promotional purposes, making it the very first car to be officially recognized as a Batmobile

But then this person disagreed with the first posters comments.

First "Batmobile" was a customized Corvette until the studio cancelled it.

It's a good looking car. I've never seen, or at least never noticed, a painted grill before. Was that a '68 only thing? To be honest, I'm more familiar with '70-72 cars. My dad has 2 '72 big block cars, a convertible automatic car and a 4-speed T-top car. Those cars are my main interaction and knowledge base with C3s. I see you have the correct "dripper" valve covers, I've somehow wound up with 2-3 set of those over the years.

I've read an article or two in the past stating that the first one pictured was the original Batmobile. I would like to believe it was. I think Batman would've been hesitant to jump into that other one (though Robin probably thought it was cool).

While that may have been the 1st customized Batmobile, who remembers the original Batmobile? (gotta admit it was a touch before my time but.... Here it is none the less.

Edit: This particular "Batmobile" is from the second Serial film in '49

1949 studebaker ramp truck. 350 Chevy with 700r4 tranny. Air suspension on all four corners. Power disc brakes all around. Alcoa rims. New interior seats console backup camera steering column and gauges. New fuse panel and wiring throughout.
$40,000.00

Yahoo, is isn't a Lame Shit engine but a tried and true Chevy 350.

Thinking that thing was pretty cool till I got to the interior pics. The attention to detail makes me question what else they half assed.

For that money, I want the whole ass :D
