I am happy to hear that 25K miles and still going strong! That snake oil salesman seems to have figured it out! Speaking of snake oil salesmen, @AndyG and I sold snake oil for the same company in the 90's!

Did you work for Flight Systems at one point? That's actually where I got the PCM that I'm running now. I stumbled on them by accident when my OEM PCM went bad. A guy by the name of Jeff Hess picked up the phone when I called and he personally sourced a replacement for me. I know it will fail someday which is why yours is resting comfortably in my shop.

The 05=06 manual pcms have three main faults. o2 sensors showing bad when good, loss of gauges (usually fuel showing empty when full,) and stalling while driving. You can take a screwdriver handle and gently tap on the pcm at operating temperature to see if anything changes.

Here is a video testimonial for you to watch in your spare time!

Please let me know if you have any questions for me.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated!

From the NSA, FBI or CIA. The alphabet boys have a whole dossier on me. 🤫😂

...and somewhere in Washington, enshrined in a little folder, is a study in black and white of his fingerprints.

wow, two Alice's Restaurant references here in less than a week. Must be getting close to thanksgiving. (or a draft!)

Maybe I'm obtuse today, but I don't see an Alice's Restaurant reference in Mark's post. 🤷‍♂️

Do you see one in my post?

by 'here' I meant on the forum. I made another one in the what did you do your tj today thread.

Yes, I recognized the one in your post, and I participated in the other Guthrie-fest earlier. It turns out I was being obtuse, after all. I was racking my brain trying to find the Alice's Restaurant reference in Mark's post (what he wrote does sound like something Arlo Guthrie would sing), but couldn't remember anything close to it. That song was an anthem for us in our younger years, and at one time, I had it nearly memorized from wearing out vinyl listening to it. I thought maybe I was missing a verse! :)

I wasn’t on this earth when it hit record stores but I’ve had it memorized for a long time. Now it all started 20 years ago on Thanksgiving, 20 thanksgivings ago, when my (now) wife and I had been dating for a short while, and I went to her parents house for thanksgiving dinner (which couldn’t be beat). We thought it be a friendly gesture to run to the store for something, and lo and behold, what is on the radio?! So we sat in that parking lot for 15 minutes while I recited it and she probably wondered what she had gotten herself into.

Have been meaning to pick up a WranglerFix PCM, Adding it to my project list for this summer. Annoying RPM fluctuations stop when it's cold outside but now that we are seeing temperatures in the low 50s it starts up again.
