I see a head removal in my future

Hoping it's just a head gasket since it's got a TUPY head. I think I heard that one of the head bolts needs sealant on it, does anyone know if water could get in the oil if the head bolt wasn't sealed?

Its the front drivers side bolt that sticks into the cavity above the waterpump. The head should get sent in for surfacing and valve job regardless, they can check it then.

Do you know if whoever put the TUPY head on didn't put sealant on that bolt if it would leak coolant into the oil? Just thinking if I could pull that bolt and seal it I could possibly get away without doing the head gasket. Probably a long shot but you never know.

That seems like a lot of coolant in the oil for just that one bolt even if the sealant was left off but I don't know for sure because I've never had that issue. You could always try putting sealant on that bolt and run it for a bit to see if you're still getting contamination. It's bolt 11 and you need Loctite 592 or equivalent.

Next step would be to do a cylinder pressure leak test to look for a bad head gasket or a cracked head/block/piston

The jeep heads like to crack from the coolant passage to the valve cover area. Leakdown test wouldn't help in that scenario. Cracked piston for water in oil? Lol

He can fiddle with the bolt but the next step is removing the head

Pulling the valve cover on mine revealed a tiny crack, there was a tiny drop of coolant near the push rod hole and a line of sludge along the crack line. My oil level had risen but the oil still looked like normal with no milkshake look at all. (Mine was not a TUPY). A new Clearwater is in the works as we speak.

I figure it's about a 1-3% chance it's the head bolt, but it's easy to get to at least. One thing I hate about buying used, especially something over 20 years old, you never know what someone else did to it. Since it's a TUPY I know the head's been replaced, but impossible to say who did it and how well.
