Left turn signal doesn't cancel. Right works, as do hazards. Changed out turn signal switch, but still have same problem. Read something about a turn cancelling cam, but can't find anything for a 97. Not a mechanic by any stretch of imagination, but never too late to learn. Any suggestions?

Mine did the same thing. Then the other direction broke as well. Been like that for years, I just swipe the lever as I turn the wheel back straight. I'm lazy.

That's what I've been doing, but now I have a callus on my index finger. Still would like to learn about this "cam" thing. Thx

Callus' make you manlier and more toxic.
I do the same, sweep it back, no callus though, I'm already too masculine.

I suggest you download a copy of the service manual for your year of Jeep. Here is an excerpt from mine:

Long story short, replace your clockspring if it bothers you.

I have a vague memory of a post from maybe 15 years ago when these were relatively new vehicles. This was a common failure and a simple fix was putting a machine screw where the broken plastic post used to be. As said above, I’m lazy and so far haven’t taken mine apart to look at it or fix it. Maybe one day when I don’t have so many projects.
