Working on piecing together all the bits and bobs for my half door project and I'm in need of hinges.
Everyone seems to think that the OEM hinges are made of gold. Has anyone used any of the current aftermarket options (Crown, Kentrol, Smittybilt, Rugged Ridge)?

When attempting to replace the bushings in our hinges, I found out that there are different factory hinges based on year of manufacture.
There’s at least 2 different sized hinge pins/bushings, so at least 2 different hinges… be sure what ever you come up with are the same as the ones on your full doors, or they will not work.
Aftermarket hinges are at least the 3rd size.

I always had issues with the hinges on my jeep slowly deforming or letting the door sag when I switched to full doors so here was my solution. While these aren't the cheapest solution they definitely have solved all of my problems as the entire door is far more rigid. I drilled and tapped the stock door plates to accept 3/8 bolts and bought countersunk stainless bolts to match. As I have a 97 my door bushings are not full length so I resin 3D printed new ones to custom fit the hinge and my jeep doors are as solid and responsive now as any other car. I did manufacture these myself but would be happy to give out the dimensions if you have the capability or want to do something similar.

The ‘03-‘06 Kentrol upper hinges are decent actually. The upper hinges are the same dimensions as the factory. Nice and thick and utilizes the factory style screws and mirror mounting configuration...

The bottom hinge is thinner and uses button head screws. Coupled with the more substantial upper hinge I have zero issues at all with them on my half doors. Very solid feeling…

Last time I looked I didn't see any hinges, I'll try calling

Last I knew, I got his last set. He may have just recently gotten more in so definitely call though…

His stock was so bare that for one side he had to give me two upper hinges. I never did weld the mirror holes closed to use it as a bottom hinge. I still have all 4 hinges laying there in a tote actually…

I think someone said on here he's clearing out inventory and closing down.

When I did my half doors I pieced together a full set from Davey's, as well as rayswranglers2010 and ufcgirl21 on eBay. Just pay attention when buying "pairs" because some eBay vendors sell a pair of hinges for the same door, and others sell a pair of upper or lower hinges. I ended up with a couple of spares to resell.

Right now I'm only into them for $750-$800 using the new Key Parts shells and I'm only missing hinges and weatherstrips
It just bothers me to pay 3 times what a silly hinge is worth

I've bought lots of stuff from them (and Dead Jeeps) and have hinges from them on my watch list was more bitching about the over zealous pricing for used parts
