Savvy off-road sold? (the unofficial Savvy customer support and Savvy rant thread)

This is pretty infuriating considering I was told the engine and trans skids were OOS when I ordered near the beginning of all this "going out of business" stuff.

They list them both as available for backorder. I ordered these back in early late January, February when the site had just updated to available for back order. They quickly ran out of stock. This thread may have had something to do with creating a run on savvy parts 😆

Savvy likely ran out of available units they ordered from their fabricator/supplier At the time you ordered.

Well my mid arm upgrade kit showed up. Most of it, anyway.
I'm not going to complain too much, because I kind of knew what I was getting myself into and I'm not going to contact Savvy about it.

But, paper bags containing the hardware placed inside a cardboard box with loose unwrapped brackets isn't the most secure way to ensure stuff gets to its destination.

Reach out to Gerald through email. He was very responsive to me when I was missing some bolts and was able to send out the parts the next business day

Looks like I'm only missing a couple nuts and a handful of washers. Although I can't make sense of the assortment of washers that I do have. Considering the Fedex guy just left a bunch of the hardware that fell out on top of the boxes, I'm really surprised all the bolts and jam nuts are here. Not worth me reaching out over.

No stickers either, though!

Man I was all excited opening the hardware box for the skid. Some of the paper used to wrap the hardware looked like the decal/sticker paper. Each one I pulled out had no stickers on it.

LOL! I too just got my midarm and am missing some washers it looks like, but I did get an extra johnny joint!

Can you DM me so we can compare what we got, what/if we are missing anything?

I'd probably consider a few clear pictures posted up so the folks that actually know can tell you what is missing, but that's just me.

Won't pass that up.

It looks to me like most everything got here. 4 of the front washers are too big, and I'm missing 1 washer from the rear. And I got an extra JJ, sending that one back.

@mrblaine Do the rear arms look to be the correct length for an LJ? I heard they were longer than Tj, but no idea about specifics.

Can't tell without a measurement on the arms. The larger washers are for the lowers to center them in the cam horseshoes until they get tightened. You can use them with or without a normal washer along with the fender washer.

The stiffener at the front is on the wrong side. It goes opposite the rectangular cut -outs that fit down over the cast upper bushing mount on the axle after you split it in half horizontally.

You will need longer cover bolts for the 3 locations at the rear truss brace. (generally)

A way to tell if the rear arms are correct for a TJ Unlimited is if they are longer than the front lowers. If they are the same, then they are TJ.

Thanks, much appreciated! Mind sharing why the front gets a stiffener, but the rear doesn't? I thought the stock axles didn't need trusses.

Okay yup, just checked and we are all good.

Uam skid received. Still waiting on the engine skid.

Gerald said the engine skid will hopefully go out tomorrow. He responded within a few minutes of me sending an email.
