This is a Cuz-D.

It is designed to cut subfloors net at the wall and cut window openings in anywhere you need to cut tight to something.

It won’t find its place in every work truck like the sawzall but I believe it is almost that valuable, and

in some cases, more so. Not sure why the funny print.

Why do you need to cut subfloors flush to a wall?

Repairs- makes it look super professional- versus patched- plus it keeps you from having to cut a piece and mate it to a jagged cut made by a sawzall-

and other reasons - like window openings the sheathing lays over - you can cut to the studs net

Also to remove flooring like hardwood that has a wall on it from a prior remodel.

I'm surprised their product liability counsel let them sell that. The mere fact that it has to cut flush means guards are minimal...

You know the first thing I said when I saw it was- “That is the deadliest thing I’ve ever seen”

It actually has a guard but it is minimal and easily removed-You can see in the picture but it isn’t very sturdy and basically held on by a little lock mechanism and a magnet.

I think the fact that the blade is blind to the user is helpful and the overall design is solid but I would really imagine the attorneys had a lot to say about it-

You know the only thing worse about all this is this thing to go into the hands of hung over construction workers some who are just looking to get injured- free pain meds, etc.

We had a situation where a ladder collapsed last week and it nearly got a worker hurt- Honestly if I think about how dangerous it all is and the liability I won’t even get out of bed in the morning.

Adding to all this guys remove guards and wire them back all the time- But what worries me the most is when the guys just don’t understand what you can and can’t do when cutting.

I’ve got one worker who in times past seemed to Pride himself on how close he could get his fingers to the table saw blade. We call him John but there was one instance that nearly got him the name lefty. And everybody knows I’m a comic but I’m serious and I do not think tool accidents are funny.
