Any aren't the hardtop nuts wing nuts or thumb screws?

Very good. Have you guys ever wondered if they ever considered nutserts for them ..I realize you need some movement for adjustment boy those things can be aggravating , specially up around the rollbar.

On my LJ I dont use the factory bolt holes in front. About 6 inches behind that are the locator pins that I did not have any use for so I removed them. I run a thumbscrew through that hole instead, way easier.

Great idea. Never thought of that.

I use eye bolts with a nut and washer from the top, and wing nuts with a lock and flat washer from the bottom.

Easy to tighten from the top with most anything. I usually use a screwdriver.

Haven’t had them ever come loose, and they’re easy to remove with minimal effort.

Plus they give you a great spot for bungee cords to tie stuff down.

More helpful than the thumb screws is this little tidbit of advice that I’ll share for free.
This is especially helpful for the 2 nut plates near the roll bar/door openings; get yourself some good double-sided tape.
Apply it to the nut plate, but don’t remove the backer film until after you cut the tape to provide an access hole for the screw the get to the threads.

Drop your new thumb screw into the tub hole and align the nut plate and tighten.
Now when the thumb screw is removed to take off the top, that nut plate won’t find its’ way under the seatbelt housing anymore.

You’re welcome.

FTW. I've had this on my To Do List forever. I still use the crappy factory version.... BUT it's on my list. Cheaper than other other productized versions with thumb screw and better bc of the eye loop for securing cargo.

I'd like to add something like these because I have a soft top so don't even use those holes. What sizes are they?
