Will these fit a 2002?

Do you know if it will plug in like normal? Didn't know if I needed to modify the wiring.
Thanks

you're gonna be going from one plug to two plugs so you'll need to do some modifications. when i did the switch from the bar to the pods, i ran all new wiring and didn't bother to find any plugs to splice in. the wires were hidden under the roll bar padding and went straight through the grommets on the pods.

i've since switched back to the bar and am happy that i kept the old connector with enough wiring to splice back in when reverting back.

Do you think I would be better of just buying the wiring off eBay from a 2005 tj that had the pods?

Yes. I've done it twice on two different TJ's I own, with zero issues. As Ocho notes, the easiest thing is to run a new wiring. I did it that way because I knew I was never going for the bar. But it would be a good Idea to leave the original connector in place just in case...

not sure. depends how comfortable you are with wiring speakers and how much the wiring off eBay costs.

i ran new wiring from the amp to the speaker pods when i switched. pods look and sounded shitty so when i switched back to the bar i spliced the plugs back in for the bar.

I don’t have much experience with it but I thought I would try. I bought some wiring off eBay for $30 for a jeep with the pods

for 30$ i don’t blame you!

while you wait for that to arrive, fill the pods up with water and see if there’s any holes to patch up. then get some sound deadener applied to the inside of the pods and pick up some poly fill. might as well do it now while it’s a fresh install

I picked up the pods yesterday for $25 so even if it doesn't work out it isn't much money. He already swapped the bulbs for LEDs which I planed on doing anyway.

That one at the top is what I was talking about. I think the 03+s have another hole for that in the roll bar with some sort of rubber insert that the stud fits snuggly into.

That's the alignment pin that holds the pods in place on the bar. ... I'd like to know why Ocho went back to the bar, instead of the pods. I'm right in the middle of a similar project, and am trying to decide between mounting 6.5's in the stock bar...or, using the pods from my totaled 05 tj.

This is on a 1997 TJ.

I have aftermarket speakers with crossovers and tweeters installed on mine. So all the wiring was custom.
