What did you do to your TJ today?

oh pretty sure I'll be at it next weekend too. I'm slow when it comes to upgrades. My OCD makes me read the writeups a couple times and then I have to sit and stare at the Jeep until my brain translates the writeups into an actionable process that makes sense to me.

Sounds like me. 🤣

Removed the crappy Paramore eBay brand plastic, flat fenders. They were starting to crack, and have some weird bubbles in the plastic. Went back to the factory flares.

I don’t really know why I changed them in the first place. It looks so much better stock.

I like your wheels. Who makes those?

I can see that. Do you think it’s a less predatory thing for the women?
I'm not sure - as an "armchair philosopher", I think about such things frequently. I used to walk through my neighborhood every morning to catch a vanpool. I'd frequently encounter a group of 3 or 4 older women. The first couple of times I was in pants - I could tell they were nervous, I'm a big guy, with beard and long hair. Then they saw me in skirts, and were way less scared. After a couple or 3 more times, they'd stop to talk to me. I think it may be that the skirt somehow gentled my appearance in their eyes. *shrug* (???)

Then there's the whole "self confidence thing" that I guess they find interesting. One of my dance teachers told me recently that she gets a lot of interested questions from women. And I've had experiences with what I call "feral women" at performances at times. They make their interest known in no uncertain terms - which makes me limit my contact with audiences when not on stage. They don't seem to care that I have my wedding ring on, although perhaps that stops some. I tend to stay in the safety of my dance sisters.

My wife and I were in a "high zoot" restaurant once upon a time - I was dressed to the nines in an ankle length black skirt, a flowey shirt, hair "down but done" with a tikka-like forehead piece of jewelry that anchored in the hair (Similar to the one I wear with the Brolita costume that you've seen pix of), nice earrings, full makeup, blah, blah. Table full of older women nearby who were celebrating one of their number's birthday - and were VERY interested in me when I walked by to use the "facilities" (and yes, it was the fucking MEN'S room where I belonged!) Anyway, we finished up and were leaving, so I stopped off at their table to ask "So, whose birthday is it anyway?". BUSTED! The look on their faces was priceless! Long story short, one of them propositioned me right then and there - wife by my side be damned! o_O

New driveshaft is in. I still need to adjust the pinion angle a little bit. I got the right upper arm out, struggling with the left one. Can or should I be jacking up some part of the Jeep to take pressure off the bolt?! If so where? Thank you in advance.

You ever walk into a room and catch the end of conversation just in time? I feel like that just happened

On to the front axle to install 4" of Curry Spring Goodness. Well as soon as I read up on how to do that..

Got my new windshield installed thought something didn’t look quite right…then realised my mirror was 2 inches lower than what it should be 🤔 (no hobbit jokes please 😂)
They will have to order me a new windshield With no marker for the rearview mirror built into the glass, so they can reinstall it at the correct height.

Worth noting you can't "just weld a bolt on and drive the hinge pins out" of the windshield hinges as I was told.
Tapped out easily enough after cutting the welds on the back side of the outer hinge sections, however.

Towed home in shame after a three mile run.

New Bosch Brazilian pump lasted a few short trips and died.

Pulled the tank, swapped back in the original Bosch pump with a broken check valve...and the new sock that finally arrived...in and out in 90 minutes (slowed down for 30 to figure out where I put the sock.)

Back running...need to source a Bosch pump...and do this a third time...

Oh and speedo issue not fixed... guessing it's the sender... although moving the wires around makes it work right...and that's the same run of wires to the fuel pump...grr.

And fed the goats...

Not a good start to the weekend as I hit the back of another vehicle in wet weather….. She literally stopped as the lights turned orange …..and I didn’t…. Despite me changing down the gears like a madman I skated into the back of her.
I think I’m just looking at a new bumper hopefully the chassis isn’t bent. 😞 Taking it to the insurance assesses on Wednesday.
