Versatube Carport

Don’t recall dimensions but it was big enough for a large motor home, tall and no sides just a roof. He paid like $5500 I believe.

Ok thanks. After finding their price chart, it looks like it’ll be similar to what MrBlaine has been quoted for a 12x21 3 sided shelter, $3000 or so is just a couple hundred dollars more than Versatube and they will install it, seems like a deal to me. They also offer a 20 year warranty on the 12 gauge frame and are a local company which is a bonus that’s worth a couple hundred dollars more in my opinion, I’ll be calling them today when I get a chance.

Here are some pics of my setup.

Be sure to report back, I’m planning to use them when I save up $5k. I have to figure out how to prep flat surface on my crowned stamped concrete driveway.

Gravel was delivered this morning. Got it spread around and leveled enough for me right now. Waiting to hear back from West Coast Metal Buildings on the quote/turn around time for them to install or at least deliver so I can install it myself. Will keep you guys updated.

For those of you in the Oregon, Washington, and Idaho area… West Coast Metal Buildings appears to be a solid company so far. This quote is for delivery and install included. I put the deposit down today for one.

It was explained to me that the way they are able to maintain free delivery is by delivering by “area” as orders come in. She explained that generally delivery occurs between 6-10 weeks unless they have an influx of orders in the area, in which case delivery times are quicker. They allow for you to pick up the order much quicker if you want to install yourself and have a way to transport, however they don’t decrease the price any. I’m not in any sort of hurry so a 6-10 week turn around isn’t an issue for me.

So far they are very responsive and easy to work with. Definitely more responsive than the original Versatube I was looking at.

Appreciate you sharing the details, that looks pretty decent for a deivered and assembled unit!

Figured since they delivered and installed this yesterday I’d give an update on things for those interested in the PNW…

West Coast Metals out of Salem Oregon. They delivered and installed a 12x20 with 6 foot legs, 9 extra rock anchors, three sided carport for $2946.

Turnaround time was pretty much 9 weeks. They do allow you to go pick it up and install it yourself quicker, but the price doesn’t change at all so I decided to wait it out and not have to do the 4 hour round trip myself. The extended turnaround time is due to the way they wait for groups of orders in the same region so they can maximize efficiency.

They were originally supposed to show up on Tuesday at 2pm. I was frustrated when they didn’t arrive by 3pm, even more frustrated when they didn’t show up by 4pm. I called the shop and they hadn’t heard from the installers due to no phone service, but said the plan was still to show up and get it done. By 6pm I was pretty pissed off that they still weren’t here and I hadn’t heard any updates on ETA. I had gotten the number for the install crew and was able to reach them by 6:30PM. I learned from the install crew they were on a job without any phone service, and no land line from the property they were installing on, so there was no way for them to communicate with me or the shop that their truck broke down. They apologized and worked with me to reschedule for Wednesday at noon.

The shop answered the phone every time I called and everyone was apologetic about things being delayed. I have this kind of luck with any project so I do not think this is a representation of the company. And am still 100% satisfied with the product and the company.

The delivery/install guys were super easy to work with and it took them 1.5 hours from the time they arrived to the time they were cleaned up and leaving. I had neighbors come over and express how amazed they were at how quick they got the carport put up, one of them even got a card and plans to use them for a carport he needs built. Overall I highly recommend West Coast Metals for anyone in Washington, Oregon and Idaho who needs a carport or metal building installed!
