What did you do to your TJ today?

Took the top off. Too nice out not to and I'll be out of town for the next storm.

This is a little of all what happened since I bought my tj a little over a month ago.

Went to install a vehicle trailer harness, noticed I had no running lights. Turned out there was a wire fire in the past in the drivers door sill that ran under the dash.

1st body harness was a dud, 2nd one did the trick.

Then my turn signal/multi function switch went bad, got that replaced.

Installed trailer harness.

Before all this wiring fixing, I knew the tj had a bad oil leak 6"+ puddle overnight. After wiring was all fixed and safe, did the rear main seal and oil pan gasket. Very happy to report no leaks after 48 hours!

Picked up a Wind Stopper Plus and tonneau combo on a whim. Wanted to get the top off for summer but still a chilly ride in the mornings here so I thought this would help me get summer started early. Quality seems good so far (one day in). Mastertop makes two version of the Wind Stopper. The Plus model ties into the door surrounds which gives it a nice fit. It also has a zippered rear window which fit the bill for what I wanted to get a more open air feel and be able to close up easy when it's cool out. The tonneau lets me toss stuff underneath and hope the out of sight out mind deters folks looking for an easy grab. Obviously not secure but at least they have to somewhat work for it.

One thing to note if anyone is thinking running this setup or similar. I'm 6'3" and have my seat pushed as far back as it will go and then lean the seat back some too so the seat really gets into the Wind Stopper. Not a big deal as I just loosened the straps to accommodate and shorter folks won't have any issues.

Also fooled around with half door and no door combos just to see what it would look like.

Looking good. Plan on keeping the doors black or going silver?

What exactly doesn't fit? Bottom right corner? Can you post more pics?

yea, its the right corner of the wing portion of the top along with the rear right side of the window, I have to excessively pull the frame down and still struggle to get the plastic tab to fit under the mount on the tub for the window. pulling down so hard is forcing the wing to be too low. I would need to unstitch the zipper slide on the top portion and move it down more. I dont have any more photos, I rolled it up and tossed it aside.

ive spent about a day and a half worth of time on it and I really dont want to mess with it anymore honestly.

jeep is garage kept and im planning on just getting a cheapo top to replace it with to just be done with it.

Tried to change the jacked up rear sway bar bolt and discovered that the nut is jacked up too so I wedged it all back together and swapped the BFG's for the Trail Grapplers instead

Now I need to track down a replacement flag nut

That's too bad. Can't say I don't know how that feels. What do you suspect is the issue? The right side zipper end too short? Does the top you have use any kind of stiffener in the rear wings? My Trektop Nx has heavy plastic stiffeners that make getting things zipped a real PITA. I leave them out to make it easier. Just noodling around with possible solutions...

little suspicious it may have to do with the fact that I hadn't "wrinkled" the zipper slide on the corners. dont really know, unfortunately im not a seamstress :ROFLMAO: I just tried my luck and it didnt turn out. ive got the corner stiffeners too but the bottom of the window in its relaxed state was about 1 or 2 inches higher at the bottom than the corner the top. just cattywompus in general. drivers side was perfect but the passenger side was way off. im sure a simple zipper slide reposition would solve it but its a absolute ton of work just to do that.

Replaced the OE front bumper that I stubby'd by 4" on each side, with a Motobilt stubby. Replaced the Hella driving lights and OBA for the time being. Need to remove the bumper and clearance the two lower bolt holes that don't line up with the hole in the front frame rails. Should have test fit it before I sent it off to be refinished. Not a big deal. Also want to remove the sway bar and clean up the brackets and spots of rust that have been hidden by the sway bar cover.

How do you like the Zone sway disconnects?

Baby steps... Brother's in law came over for Easter Lunch - so I had them help me pull off the old platform and lift the new one on. I guess I put a little too many accessories on the new one (it was quite heavy-abet a bit of that was the light bar. Easier to to mount it to the rack while it was off the Jeep), but the new rack and KC lights are now at least sitting on top my LJ. Tomorrow I will try to get the legs centered and bolt it down. Then the next step is to get the lights wired. Weather permitting, perhaps will rip out the interior next week and get the sound and heat shielding installed. Other than installing the GMRS (it was on hold because I can not hear myself think while driving right now) and getting the misfiring cylinder figured out - Clemintine may be mostly finished soon. Then I will take a break, and consider the last big change - outboarding. Wanted to complete everything else on the bucket list before making that final investment.

FIXED THE BUMPER....🥳.
After my mate and I took off the bumper we realized its Aluminum not steel.... so much easier than we thought to bend back into shape with a little bit of heat, a BFH and some wooden blocks..
The best news was that I get to keep my bumper… just need to repaint it now.
Happy days !!!
